It’s only been 3 games but the way the Wolves have completely overwhelmed and dominated Miami, Orlando, and Toronto is truly impressive. The sky is the limit. 3-0 with wins by 25, 22, and 23.
“This has been one of the most impressive starts to a season I can ever remember the Minnesota Timberwolves having,” says @JimPeteHoops. I couldn’t agree more. They look LOCKED in. It doesn’t look like a new group trying to mesh at all. They look cohesive, sharp, and connected.
Wolves are doing work once again, absolutely taking it to the Raptors in the home opener. They’d be up 30+ easily without all the turnovers. This team is vibing out of the gates.
Really nice first half by Terrence Shannon Jr. off the bench to help deal with the LaMelo foul trouble. 12 points in 13 minutes on 4-4 FG, 2-3 FT. The TSJ scoring punch is huge for the second unit.
Rebounding was a big question mark entering the season, so it’s extremely encouraging to see the Wolves control the glass. 52-34 advantage in game 1, with 17 offensive rebounds. Then 60-43 in game two with 21 more orebounds. Gang rebounding! 2-0. +35 REBS. +47 point differential.
Kuminga is picking up where he left off in the opener, doing a lot of positive stuff in his first stint tonight. Nailed two triples, two dimes, three boards, active plus defense! His play is crucial to this season and JK looks sharp.
