Every Nigerian life matters deeply, and nobody should experience the pain of insecurity.
My point was not to reduce citizens to numbers, but to emphasize the difficult responsibility every government carries in protecting millions of people across a complex nation.
The fight against terrorism is not solved overnight, but it is wrong to say nothing has been done. Terrorists have been neutralized, territories reclaimed, and security operations intensified, even though much more still needs to be done.
We can criticize government while also acknowledging efforts and encouraging greater results. Empathy and objectivity can coexist.
CITY BOY MOVEMENT
PRESS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
24 May 2026
ADEPOJU BABATUNDE SALAKO IS NOT A MEMBER, OFFICER OR COORDINATOR OF THE CITY BOY MOVEMENT
The attention of the leadership of the City Boy Movement has been drawn to a series of online publications and social media reports attempting to falsely associate one Mr. Adepoju Babatunde Salako with the City Boy Movement in relation to criminal proceedings and conviction reportedly arising from alleged fraud-related offences in the United States of America.
The Movement considers it necessary to categorically, clearly and unequivocally state as follows:
1. Mr. Adepoju Babatunde Salako is not a member of the City Boy Movement and has never held any office, appointment or official position whatsoever within the structure of the Movement at the national, zonal, state, diaspora or international level.
2. The said Mr. Adepoju Babatunde Salako was never appointed, recognised, authorised or designated by the City Boy Movement as a coordinator, representative, campaign official, spokesperson or mobilization officer in the United States of America or anywhere else in the world.
3. The City Boy Movement therefore completely dissociates itself from the said individual and from every publication, insinuation or narrative attempting to create a false relationship between him and the Movement.
4. It is important to note that several earlier media reports concerning the said criminal allegations and conviction did not in any way associate the individual with the City Boy Movement. The sudden attempt by certain mischievous elements to drag the name of the Movement into the matter clearly suggests a deliberate agenda aimed at discrediting prominent mobilization platforms and support structures associated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the broader progressive movement.
We find it curious that the same individual has also been identified in separate reports as a Philadelphia Coordinator of another pro-Tinubu support platform known as “Relax, Tinubu Is Fixing Nigeria.” This clearly underscores the reckless and indiscriminate manner with which certain actors are now attempting to attach politically convenient labels and affiliations to the individual in order to manufacture sensational narratives.
For the avoidance of doubt, this clarification has absolutely nothing to do with the personal legal circumstances, travails or judicial proceedings involving the said individual. Every citizen is entitled to constitutional rights and due process under the law. However, the City Boy Movement cannot and will not accept false attribution, reputational manipulation or deliberate attempts to create artificial relationships where none exists.
The CBM remains a lawful, disciplined and responsible sociopolitical movement committed to constructive engagement, youth mobilisation, democratic participation and national development in line with the ideals and progressive vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Members of the public and the media are therefore advised to disregard all publications, insinuations and social media claims linking Mr. Adepoju Babatunde Salako with the City Boy Movement in any capacity whatsoever.
Signed:
MOHAMMED ABDULLAHI
National Publicity Secretary

@forrealaje The duty of every responsible government is to guarantee the safety and wellbeing of the greatest number of our people. We know this, and our leader knows this. This is why he has continued to wage unrelenting war on terrorists, and he will not relent. Nigeria will win!
@OneJoblessBoy ecosystem, not a narrow selection of a few programmes.
Going forward, I encourage Youth Be Involved and similar platforms to engage more robustly, request fuller data, and consult widely so assessments can reflect the true scope of interventions.
@OneJoblessBoy are operational, impactful, and already changing lives across campuses, communities, tech hubs, informal sectors, and grassroots environments nationwide.
This is why a balanced youth report card must be inclusive, broad-based, data-informed, and representative of the full youth
@OneJoblessBoy healthcare, mental health awareness, and access to credible health support services for young Nigerians. You cannot fully assess youth-focused governance while ignoring health, a key driver of productivity and human capital development.
These programmes are not theoretical; they
@OneJoblessBoy with knowledge on data rights, cyber security, digital ethics, online privacy, and safety practices. This is preparing Nigerian youth for a modern, technology-driven world.
5. Yo! HEALTH Initiative is another major omission. The Yo! HEALTH focuses on wellness, preventive
@OneJoblessBoy excluded by information gaps. This is a direct response to one of the exact concerns your report highlighted.
4. Youth Data Protection & Awareness Programme of the Tinubu administration is also investing in digital safety and responsible innovation by equipping young Nigerians
@OneJoblessBoy to connect young Nigerians to opportunities, guidance, and real-time assistance. The HelpDesk and its AI-driven chatbot provide 24/7 support, ensuring young people can easily navigate available government programmes, application processes, and empowerment windows without being
@OneJoblessBoy and stimulate local economies. Over a thousand beneficiaries across the country are running functional, job-creating businesses today as a result of this programme.
3. The Federal Ministry of Youth Development has also created a Youth HelpDesk system (including the AI Chatbot)
@OneJoblessBoy empowerment in this administration.
2. NiYA Start-Up Grants & Enterprise Support. Beyond skills, NiYA has gone further to support youth entrepreneurship with startup grants and business support interventions, enabling young innovators and SMEs to scale operations, create jobs,
@OneJoblessBoy entrepreneurship, and employability training. Thousands have already earned globally recognized certifications, and many have begun translating those skills into income and enterprise growth. A youth impact report that omits NiYA leaves out one of the strongest pillars of youth
@OneJoblessBoy The Minister you are "pouring" spit delivered:
1. The Nigerian Youth Academy (NiYA)
NiYA is perhaps the most significant digital skills empowerment drive for Nigerian youth today. It has enrolled 300,000 young Nigerians into structured learning paths covering digital skills...
@leonardokafor0@Big_Sinudo That is because you have been busy retweeting Peter Obi, so you wont have time to notice what matters. At least you get to know now that someone did a whole video to criticise a YOUTH MINISTER taking part in a NATIONAL YOUTH ENGAGEMENT TOUR. Lol
In any case, the Minister’s visit to Benin was to participate in the South-South leg of the Renewed Hope National Youth Engagement Tour, a key component of his official responsibilities. Or you dont know that YOUTH ENGAGEMENT is part of the duties of a YOUTH MINISTER?
“Minister of Youths, I pour you spit. Why are your posters everywhere in Edo state? You’re coming for the City Boy Movement. Is it what you’re appointed for?”
- Comedian I go Save blasts Minister of Youths Development.
Well, the so-called Minister is more or less Seyi’s SA.✍️
Same thing was done by some of Late President Buhari's Ministers who actively supported political organizations like Nigerian Consolidation Ambassadors Network (NCAN), among others campaigning for the re-election of their Principal. So, what is strange or new here?

that someone would sit down to record a video? In 2014, dozens of support groups were either founded or influenced by several of Jonathan's Ministers, among them were
Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN), Goodluck Support Groups, and youth & women mobilization platforms
The problem is many of you just run with whatever argument appeals to your sentiment. The activities leading to the 2027 General Election commences on 20th APRIL, 2026, & @officialABAT who appointed @ayowisdom_ would be standing for re-election. So, what is so NEW or STRANGE...
