“Don’t just say, ‘I read my Bible.’ The devil knows the Bible by heart. He used it on Jesus. It’s about lingering there, loving it, and pleading with the Lord to open the eyes of your heart.”

Most of the steps we take in the pursuit of holiness will be forgettable, but that doesn’t make them any less significant, or miraculous. https://t.co/SVHfCBrVhC
“For my name’s sake I defer my anger; for the sake of my praise I restrain it for you, that I may not cut you off. . . . For my own sake, for my own sake, I do it, for how should my name be profaned? My glory I will not give to another.” —Isaiah 48:9, 11
If you want to obey God in the biggest matters of life, begin by obeying him in the smallest. Stop the fantasy right as it starts. Pray instead of checking your phone again. Refuse your eyes the second glance. Trust Jesus right where you are. https://t.co/SVHfCBrVhC
Our growth in holiness will not diminish our need for confession. In fact, the very opposite is true. As we grow, we will become more keenly aware of sin, resulting in deeper contrition, more frequent confession, and a greater appreciation of grace.
When a person becomes a Christian, the sin that was once a delightful meal tastes like a barrel of rot and the life of sin that was once a fragrant bed smells and feels like a miry wallow. The Christian is not immune to sin, but can no longer find long-term delight in it!
There is a pepper grown in Japan called the Shishito pepper. Only 10% of these peppers are spicy and there’s no way of knowing beforehand. 🌶 #FactManiac
“Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will.” —Hebrews 13:20–21
