Ukraine just stripped the Kerch Bridge of its air defence.

In a joint operation on June 21, Ukraine’s Security Service and Special Operations Forces struck two Pantsir air defence systems deployed directly on the Crimean Bridge — and simultaneously disabled four S-400 radar stations.

Six air defence assets. One operation. The bridge that Russia built as a symbol of its grip on Crimea is now unprotected.

Every air defence system destroyed around the Kerch Bridge expands the operational window for what comes next. Every radar station disabled removes another layer of early warning for Russian forces defending the peninsula.

The broader picture of Crimea’s air defence in June 2026:
→ Pantsir systems struck in Zaporizhzhia region — June 19
→ Two Pantsirs on the Kerch Bridge — destroyed today
→ Four S-400 radars — disabled today → All major land crossings closed or under fire control
→ Fuel rationing across the peninsula → Oil and gas infrastructure burning
Russia built the Kerch Bridge to make
Crimea feel permanent.

Ukraine is systematically dismantling everything that makes it defensible.

How many times have we been told the Russian economy is about to collapse, Putin is terminally ill, or that Russia is somehow the last bastion of conservative values?

Do yourself a favour, bin them off.

Follow people who are actually on the ground, who understand the region, speak to those living through it, in their language, and report what they see rather than what their audience wants to hear. 🇺🇦🇷🇺

➡️Erstens habe ich, glaube ich, bereits hundertmal geschrieben, dass Russland „Europa“ jenseits der Ukraine erst angreifen wird, wenn es in der Ukraine zu einer Art Diktatfrieden kommt.

➡️Zweitens ist die Ukraine mit westlichen Ländern aktuell kaum zu vergleichen. Sowohl hinsichtlich ihrer Kampfkraft als auch ihres Durchhaltewillens ist sie den meisten europäischen Staaten deutlich überlegen. Für Russland ist sie ein wesentlich härterer Gegner als beispielsweise Deutschland.

➡️Drittens müsste Russland gar nicht besonders viele Kräfte opfern, um etwa eines der baltischen Länder hybrid oder sogar direkt anzugreifen. Wahrscheinlich würden bereits einige tausend Shahed-Drohnen ausreichen, um ein Land auch ohne den Einsatz eigener Bodentruppen massiv unter Druck zu setzen.

➡️Außerdem verfügen die drei baltischen Staaten zusammen derzeit über ungefähr so viele aktive Soldaten, wie Russland im Verlauf eines Monats in der Ukraine verliert.

Es ist wirklich beängstigend, wie die AfD (und das BSW) mittlerweile nahezu alle deutschen Probleme der Ukraine anlastet – und wie Millionen Wähler diese Erzählung glauben.

➡️Als Deutscher macht es mir mit Blick auf unsere Geschichte Angst, dass „wir“ wieder eine kleine Minderheit für alles Schlechte und vermeintlich Böse in unserem Land verantwortlich machen.

➡️Die Realität sieht anders aus: Die Ukraine erhält in diesem Jahr 11 Milliarden Euro Militärhilfe aus dem deutschen Staatshaushalt. Selbst ohne die Sondervermögen entspricht das lediglich rund 2 Prozent der Bundesausgaben. Bezieht man die Sondervermögen mit ein, liegt der Anteil sogar unter 0,5 Prozent.

💥Und jeder Euro fließt auch in unsere Sicherheit, da wir nicht kämpfen müssen, solange die Ukraine das für uns tut. Wer das nicht glaubt, sollte sich die letzten 20 Jahren russischer Expansionspolitik einmal genauer ansehen.

➡️Ihren Hass auf die Ukraine, auf die in Deutschland lebenden Ukrainer sowie ihre Unterwürfigkeit und teils offen ausgetragene Unterstützung gegenüber dem gegen Europa Krieg führenden Russland hat die AfD in den vergangenen Monaten recht erfolgreich in ein Scheinargument umgewandelt: Deutschland gehe es schlechter, weil wir der Ukraine helfen.

🚨Ich hoffe, dass am Ende genügend Deutsche bei den anstehenden Wahlen die nötige Vernunft, historische Verantwortung und Urteilskraft beweisen, um auf diese düstere Strategie der AfD nicht hereinzufallen und stattdessen Parteien zu unterstützen, die Deutschland, Europa und die Ukraine als Priorität sehen.
