"Long before she was one of the most influential members of Congress, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) was a teenager hunched over a microscope, studying the effect of antioxidants on roundworms.

As a high school student, she entered the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) -- the largest and most prestigious pre-college science competition in the world, where students earn their place only by winning their way up through school, regional, and state fairs, out of millions of young scientists. In 2007, competing against finalists from dozens of countries and judged by doctoral-level scientists, Ocasio-Cortez placed second globally in the microbiology category. Her project, conducted out of Mount Sinai, tested how those antioxidants affected the lifespan of tiny roundworms -- and in some cases nearly doubled how long they lived. The achievement earned her an honor reserved for the fair's standouts: MIT's Lincoln Laboratory named a small asteroid after her, 23238 Ocasio-Cortez, still orbiting the sun today. Years later, she shared the news with obvious delight: "It's true! Science was my first passion," she wrote. Her path wound on from that microscope -- through college and a string of jobs that would each shape her: interning on immigration cases in Ted Kennedy's Senate office, mentoring young people, founding a small publishing venture to tell better stories about the Bronx, and pulling long bartending and waitressing shifts to keep her family's home out of foreclosure -- before the long-shot campaign that made her, at 29, the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. But the skills that carried her at the science fair never left her: the curiosity, the persistence, the nerve to stand before a panel of experts and defend her own ideas. That's the thing about Mighty Girls. You never know, when one of them is bent over a science project or lost in a library book or asking one more stubborn question, exactly where it will lead. The girl at the microscope becomes the woman in Congress. Our part is to encourage the curiosity, nurture the ambition, and clear the path where we can -- and to believe, long before she can prove it, that she is capable of mighty things."

Donald Trump just posted a shaky video from Mar-a-Lago on Truth Social, looking completely drained, eyes squinting at the teleprompter, words slurring as he mumbled through “condolences” for the three American service members killed in his unauthorized war on Iran.

While grieving families mourn real losses from Operation Epic Fury, Trump’s cold shrug? “Sadly, there will likely be more before it ends. That’s the way it is. Likely be more,” he said, sounding like a homicidal Bruce Hornsby.

In the rambling clip, Trump mumbled praise for the fallen as patriots who made the ultimate sacrifice, sent obligatory prayers to the wounded (five seriously so far), and offered his love and eternal gratitude to their families before casually pivoting to the fact that more troops will inevitably die.

"We expect casualties ... but in the end it's going to be a great deal for the world," he added, vowing to “avenge” the deaths with the “most punishing blow” and promising the strikes will hammer on.

He provided no details, no timeline, no congressional approval, just endless bombs, regime-change fantasies, and a guy who looks one bad read away from nodding off. Just more dystopian horrorshow as the president sees military lives as disposable collateral in a reckless adventure that risks a wider catastrophe.

Civilian deaths mounting, missiles flying, three brave Americans gone, and Trump can’t muster much more than shrug, squint, slur, repeat. Get some sleep grandpa.

Trump seems over his head now, but can’t turn around. He’s gotten all of us into a dangerous game with no plan and no accountability while MAGA cheers and families bury their heroes.

BREAKING: Governor J.B. Pritzker pounces on Trump after the Supreme Court tariff ruling and demands a refund of $1,700 for EVERY single family in Illinois — amounting to $8,679,261,600.

The refund dam just broke wide open. He even sent an invoice...

"President Trump, your tariff taxes wreaked havoc on farmers, enraged our allies, and sent grocery prices through the roof. This morning, your hand-picked Supreme Court Justices notified you that they are also unconstitutional," Pritzker wrote in a letter to the White House.

"On behalf of the people of Illinois, I demand a refund of $1,700 for every family in Illinois. There are 5,105,448 households in my state, bringing the total damages you owe to $8,679,261,600," he continued.

"The Supreme Court has ruled that this is yet one more unconstitutional act by you and your administration," he wrote. "This letter and the attached invoice stand as an official notice that compensation is owed to the people of Illinois, and if you do not comply we will pursue further action. Sincerely, JB Pritzker Governor of Illinois."

Earlier today, the Supreme Court ruled by 6-3 margin that the tariffs Trump implemented under an emergency powers law were illegal because he did not have the authority to impose them in the first place. Under the Constitution, only Congress has the power to tax and tariffs are a tax on American consumers.

Every single governor in America should follow Pritzker's lead. Trump illegally taxed all of us. Every time that we went to the store and paid an inflated price for something, that was Trump reaching into our wallet and illegally taxing us.

Our money was taken. It's time for it to be returned with interest!
