I had an idea I wanted to explore about how magnets do work at a distance. I am a mechanical engineer by education and know enough physics to be dangerous but never worked on theoretical physics. I turned to Grok and Claude to answer my questions. I’ve now in the span of three weeks developed a speculative unified theory of physics based on a single geometric fact: spacetime is a Klein bottle.

Waves carry energy. Does that mean they have mass?
Not in my exploration of MFT. Pure null modes satisfy E = |p|c and remain massless. In the framework I’m exploring, spacetime supports wave-like excitations of a flow medium. Photons are the pure propagating modes that carry zero topological charge under the relevant holonomy, so they stay massless. When an excitation acquires non-trivial holonomy or soliton winding, the resulting topological structure presents as rest mass. Neutrinos may sit in a related but distinct sector—still nearly massless (possibly even massless)—that can pick up a small topological contribution photons cannot.
