Shelbyville Mayor Scott Ferguson says he regrets that people were offended when called homes with "NO DATA CENTER" signs "shitty houses."
Ferguson was captured on camera following Monday's city council meeting talking about signs protesting data centers.
"I've seen a lot of these all over town...but I only see them in shitty houses with shitty...most of them are rentals."
I've received numerous messages about this and so has our station.
Here's what the Mayor's office told us when we asked about the comments:
"The Mayor regrets that his choice of words may have caused offense. His comments were intended to reference property maintenance and not the character, value, or importance of any resident, homeowner, or renter in our community."
The City Council voted to move forward with a massive data center project earlier this year
Remember. These people don't care about you. They'll sell you out to the highest bidder.
