When I started Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G), I thought it was just about pregnancy and delivery.

My ignorance was truly beautiful. 😂💔

I was there thinking,

“A woman gets pregnant, carries the baby for nine months, delivers, and everybody goes home happy.”

Then O&G opened the first lecture slide and I realized I had underestimated an entire specialty. 😭😂

First, they introduce the menstrual cycle.

Hormones start rising.

Other hormones start falling.

Some hormones stimulate other hormones.

Those hormones now inhibit another set of hormones.

At some point, everybody is regulating everybody.

The hormones are having more meetings than the government. 😂💔

Then comes pregnancy.

I thought pregnancy was one topic.

Only to discover that pregnancy has trimesters.

Each trimester has its own physiology.

Its own complications.

Its own investigations.

Its own management.

Its own ways to humble medical students. 😭😂

Just when you’re trying to understand normal pregnancy, O&G says,

“Now let’s discuss abnormal pregnancy.”

Before you recover, you’re reading ectopic pregnancy, preeclampsia, eclampsia, gestational diabetes, placenta previa, placental abruption, postpartum hemorrhage, and about 700 other ways pregnancy can become complicated. 😂💔

The workload is unbelievable.

Every topic seems to have classifications.

Every classification has stages.

Every stage has features.

Every feature has management.

Every management has indications and contraindications.

At some point, even the classifications need classification. 😭😂

Then comes labor.

First stage.

Second stage.

Third stage.

Sometimes I felt like I was the one in labor from the amount of reading involved. 😂💔

And don’t get me started on Gynecology.

Fibroids.

Endometriosis.

PCOS.

Cervical cancer.

Ovarian tumors.

Uterine prolapse.

Infertility.

Every organ in the female reproductive system apparently has its own chapter, subchapter, and special mission to stress students. 😭😂

Exam period is where the real miracle happens.

You spend weeks memorizing management protocols.

The moment you enter the exam hall, all the protocols enter maternity leave. 😂💔

Question:

“Outline the management of severe preeclampsia.”

My brain:

“Congratulations on your pregnancy.” 😭😂

The answer was somewhere in my head.

The problem was that it was not yet fully dilated.

So it couldn’t be delivered. 😂💔

After the exam, everything suddenly returns.

The investigations.

The risk factors.

The management.

The complications.

Even the things nobody asked.

Apparently, the knowledge was full term.

It simply refused to be delivered during the examination. 😭😂

That was when I learned that O&G is not just a course.

It’s a complete journey from puberty to menopause, with enough lecture notes to make students experience contractions before graduation. 😂💔

O&G taught me that labor is not only experienced by pregnant women; medical students experience academic labor too. 😭😂

A MAN'S SPERM DECIDES MORE THAN THE BABY

Nobody teaches this in church.

Nobody says it during traditional marriage.

They just bless two people, dance, and eat rice.

But here’s the hard truth: a man’s sperm doesn’t only decide the baby.
It decides the mother’s future health too.

Every sperm cell a man releases is a biological signature — a full-blown chemical report of his lifestyle, his diet, his addictions, his stress, his peace, his sickness.

If he eats garbage, drinks every night, never sleeps, smokes, watches nonsense, and calls it “enjoyment,” guess what happens?

He’s writing poison into his DNA.

And when that DNA enters a woman, her body reads it.

You think the sperm just goes there to fertilize an egg?

No.

The woman’s immune system must first “approve” it.

Her womb must “trust” it.

If it doesn’t, there’s war inside her body — inflammation, miscarriage, hormonal storms.

Science calls it microchimerism.

When a woman gets pregnant, some of that man’s cells actually live inside her — in her blood, her brain, her tissues, sometimes forever.

So yes, she can carry traces of every man she ever conceived with, even if she never gave birth.

Imagine that.

So when you ask, “Can a man’s sperm affect the mother?”

The answer is completely.
Her body remembers him.
His biochemistry becomes part of her story.

A sick man doesn’t just make a sick child.
He can leave a signature of sickness inside the woman he loves.

Now you understand why some women suddenly begin to battle fatigue, thyroid imbalance, depression, acne, infertility long after childbirth.

It’s not only “postpartum.” Sometimes, it’s biochemical inheritance.

If the man was inflamed, insulin-resistant, nutrient-deficient, or toxic, she carries part of that code.

That’s why I keep shouting:
A man must eat clean, live clean, and think clean not just for himself, but for his woman.
Because a healthy sperm is not about virility. It’s about legacy.

Men, your sperm carries the story your children will live and the body your woman will survive in.

Women, stop letting every man deposit his confusion in your biology.

Sperm is not just pleasure.
It’s a lifetime contract signed in protein, zinc, and mitochondria.

If you want to protect the mother, start with the father’s nutrition.

If you want to protect the child, start with the father’s discipline.

Because no supplement or IVF can fix what irresponsibility keeps breaking.

Don’t forget to reach out for a well-structured meal plan. Share and tag your friends.

I’ve been giving my colleague attitude because he said something I didn’t like and I made it obvious.

Yesterday ,I got to work and he hugged me and me still being furious told him I was mad because he said something few days back and he was like oh!

When I asked if he didn’t notice I was giving him a cold shoulder, he said he assumed I was going through a lot and decided to leave me be as he was sure I won’t be in that space for long.
