“The contrast between Dwight Eisenhower and Donald Trump—and his coterie of fools, cretins, incompetents, drunks and drug addicts, grifters, deviants, and seditionists—could not be sharper.”
Truer words…
“Eisenhower helped to rebuild a world crippled by war and economic catastrophe; Trump et al. have undone the better part of a century’s work securing American interests and prosperity by bringing war, inflation, humiliation, and dishonor to everything they touch.” | Kevin D. Williamson

In the case to block Trump's Arch, briefing will be complete Oct 30. Not clear if Judge Chutkan will order a hearing. If not enjoined, work could start 11/5.
Are career foreign service officers being asked how they voted during promotion interviews? A new report exposes troubling questions regarding political loyalty tests at the State Department. Is this policy alignment or a return to the spoil system?

The GRU hacked into Jared Kushner's iPhone. Dutch military intelligence (MIVD) then recruited a GRU spy who gave them access to the hacked phone. What MIVD discovered was that Kushner had access to two bank accounts --one Azerbaijani, the other Israeli --where Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Emirati ruler Mohammed bin Zayed deposited money. It sounds like a slightly far-fetched episode of "Slow Horses," but it's real. And it proves just how eye-poppingly corrupt this administration was and continues to be as its "special envoy" decides the fate of tens of millions in Europe in the Middle East. Simply incredible reporting by Matthew Cole, drawn from his new book on Kushner. https://t.co/8AyV60gg1X
@ddiamond@MarcilynF The commission doesn’t have the intestinal fortitude to face the public, so the hearing is fully online. Cowards and quislings.

I talk to young right wing students on campus who are openly excited about going into government to use the power of the state to break the left.
They should hear a message that there might be consequences for such abuse of power.
Pay-to-play in broad daylight. An explosive @ProPublica investigation reveals how defense contractor Navatek funneled cash to top politicians, including Lindsey Graham & James Clyburn, for millions in earmarks. Why were there no charges? A political purge of the FBI.

@WomenInTheBurbs@lifeisaslugline I’m with Patricia…displacing an officer really bugs me. They could have moved into a gated community in the DMV or an apartment building with controlled access. And, the sidewalk chalk was literally a bunch of grandmas.
