@ubcrec Hey @ubcrec. Don't the new kids swimming lessons come out today? Followed your link above and it looks like it's all still old lessons on the website
Urban birds are great! How can we manage our landscapes to protect different attributes of their diversity? Check out our new paper in @ESAApplications https://t.co/wBqtGLNatc @j_r_rhodes@martine_maron@MGEMitchell
@UBCIToutages Can't access Canvas at the moment because the website is under heavy load and "too many people are accessing this website at the same time". Any idea on solution or timeline?
Forest fragments provide several ESS even if small. Big trees play an important role in this regard. Paper calls for conservation of multi-functional forest fragments in and around cities.
Thanks @MGEMitchell for a fantastic collaboration!!
@ubcforestry
Bucket list item checked ☑️ off: meeting @DavidSuzuki !! Had the opportunity to chat with him and tell him a bit about the amazing research happening @ubcfarm. Grew up with The Nature of Things so this was a huge thrill.
Excited to share a new paper with @TahiaDevisscher in Landscape and Urban Planning on forest #ecosystemservices and #multifunctionality along an urban-rural gradient. We found higher ES at rural end but no effect of forest fragment size: https://t.co/kjcBgBhzMx
Great to see so many people for the #SWEEET workshop at #ESA2022 /#CSEE2022 but why is it last in the program and in so small a room that we’re overflowing?
Fantastic #ESA2022 workshop on acoustic monitoring just wrapped up. @TessaRhinehart, @rpatlyon et al gave a great run through of setup, deployment, data retrieval, analysis, classification, and ecological interpretation! Looking forward to putting these learnings into practice
What is a #ClimateEmergency Declaration? Are they doing anything? How do they expose simplistic assumptions about how emergencies are governed in law? If you’re interested in #climatechange, emergencies and law, check out my new article @TELjournal: https://t.co/5hj2WRlnBR
Excited to announce that I received a @NSERC_CRSNG Discovery Grant! Looking forward to using this support to better understand landscape multifunctionality.
Matthew Mitchell (@MGEMitchell) received a @NSERC_CRSNG Discovery Grant for his project on "identifying multi-scale drivers of biodiversity and ecosystem services to build multifunctional working landscapes."
