@GOLF_com Good list except the exclusion of Lancaster.
I would not include Atlantic Coty courses.
My list would be:
Pine Valley
Merion
Rolling Green
Lancaster
Phily Cricket
Philadelphia CC
Lehigh
Aronimink
Huntingdon Valley
Gulph Mills
@kmbaert Bandon Dunes doesn’t even belong on the list. Worst course at that resort by a lot. So little strategic golf other than 16. 17 and 18 are malpractice.
@sscottpga@otcgolf As always, the old tournament courses are overrated. Oakmont, Chicago, Riviera, Winged Foot, Oakland Hills, Brookline, Bethpage Black and Oak Hill. There is a place for the top 6 that I mention (sorry but Bethpage and Oak Hill don’t belong at all) but much lower.
@Mdriver1992@AndyTFE@mikeclaytongolf The bunkers aren’t needed. They will actually prevent bigger scores because players will just lay up short right of the green.
@golfcourses101 Good. Not great. Beginning and finish aren’t as good as middle holes. Bunkering style too similar to Garden City and not natural in the terrain.
@putt4dough24 Great work by architect David Zinkand. He encouraged the club to do this work and the course is so much better for it. A unique hole in American golf.
@putt4dough24 Hope no one gets hit by a ball on that green to the right. Looks like open range to it with bad golfer slices. I love tree removal but there is a purpose for some trees.
@CollinRugg Problem with America today. Life has gotten so good that people demand a fairy tale. Life is real. People should be grateful for their good relationship with a loyal partner and not demand perfection.
@drewharvie There is nothing better than a day at Sunningdale but the pure golf course (not the experience) at St George Hill is better. Just the course stands up to Pine Valley.
