Afghanistan has the 7th highest maternal mortality rate globally (WHO). On International Day of the Midwife, it’s a powerful reminder: lifting the female medical education ban is essential to saving lives. #UK4Afghanistan
Journalists reporting on conflict shine a light on the darkest events.
I pay tribute to those risking their lives to report on the ground in Gaza and Sudan.
Media have a right to report freely. We urge all parties to permit journalists to carry out their crucial role.
The Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment told TOLOnews that Mohammad Younus Mohmand, the first deputy of the chamber, met with representatives of the host country (Turkey), Germany, and the United Kingdom on the sidelines of the Afghanistan private sector support conference in Turkey. The discussions focused on developing bilateral trade and resolving visa issues for Afghan traders.
According to a statement from the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, Mohmand spoke at the conference about the Afghan people's interest in German-made vehicles. He added that the lack of access to German visas for Afghan traders has made it difficult to make these vehicles available in Afghanistan.
He also called for more facilitation from Turkey regarding the transit of Afghan goods to Europe.

4/4 - What a joy to spend a little time with the #Afghan Women's #Cricket team, to hear their story... one of courage & determination, both humbling & inspirational.
Devastated to see yet another International Day of Education pass Afghan women and girls by.
The Taliban must recognise that Afghanistan’s future can only thrive with the freedom to learn for all its people.
Education is a right, not a privilege. #EducationDay
Women and girls are facing brutal discrimination in Afghanistan at the hands of the Taliban.
Working with international partners we will support action to hold the those responsible to account.
I had the privilege of meeting young Afghans studying at @AUAfghanistan in Doha.
We discussed the challenges they face, as well as their hopes for the future. I made clear the UK’s support for an equal Afghanistan, particularly for women and girls. They are Afghanistan’s future.
