Today, one of our @FDNY Drone teams spotted numerous sharks in Rockaway Beach, Queens. This resulted in a closure of beach from Beach 9 St to Beach 149 St.

Drones are essential to our public safety mission in New York City. Whether they are spotting wildlife, swimmers in distress, or dangerous rip currents. This leverage of technology has allowed us to keep everyone visiting our beaches safe this summer.
