@realOldBilly@ayalanyan@grillngrind I had CBT for OCD. They basically just tell you to not have OCD. If you do it it works. If you don’t the result does not count because you were non compliant. That’s really shaky evidence.
@GooseworxMusic Foreshadowing. The later TADC episodes had several cases where a character didn’t react to something immediately even though they could have, so that it can come up in a later episode. That feels kind of forced. But the pilot had some of the best set up I’ve ever seen.
@KellyJo1822@Beetle0Gutt@GooseworxMusic It _is_ a shame to lose the idea of Caine fighting the Experience Machine paradox, but since it’s unresolvable it couldn’t really have a satisfactory ending.
#tadc#tadcspoilers that episode made me so sad. Caine just wanted an answer to “why do we want the real world if it’s just offices? If our dreams are gone? If we dislike our bodies but there’s no better alternative?” I hoped there’d be some angle or answer. But not now.
@jameshemphil@ToonHive Again, I get the reasoning. Redeeming the asshole is a) harder and thus more interesting, and b) of benefit to everyone else because it stops him being an asshole. So narratively it makes complete sense. But with such good characters people connect with it also seems unfair.
@jameshemphil@ToonHive I thought eps 4-7 gave us at least clues that she was raised privileged, has trouble connecting as a result and makes up by people-pleasing and self-sabotaging. The idea she was abused seems to be fan made, but being held to high expectations would be typical for her background.
@jameshemphil@ToonHive Sure. But the fact is that Jax was introduced and represented throughout as someone who deals with his issues by bullying others while Ragatha deals with hers by trying to please everyone else. Which of those more deserves a rescue arc? I can see the narrative reasoning, but..
@jameshemphil@ToonHive They’re “angry” that the least sympathetic character appears likely to get the most detailed arc. Goose essentially did too
GOOD a job making every character relatable. There is no excuse for abuse or toxicity though.
