Congratulations to Monica Pan on her admission to the MIT biology program! Monica (currently a high school student at Novi High School) volunteered in the Greenberg lab during the summer of 2023, where she gained firsthand experience using molecular biology techniques
Prof. Miriam reunites with a lab alumnus, Dr. Vishal Gohil, at the Biological Sciences Department Retreat.
Dr. Vishal is a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at Texas A&M and graduated from the lab in 2005 and was the keynote speaker at the WSU
Our research article titled “Anomalous peroxidase activity of cytochrome c is the primary pathogenic target in Barth syndrome” has been published in Nature Metabolism! Congratulations to authors Ramim, Zhuqing, Jiajia, Pablo, and Mike. https://t.co/fbkfXRAzEm
“Trailblazing Ph.D. graduate appreciates personal growth at Wayne State” highlights the tremendous achievements of Dr. Zhuqing Liang! For details, click https://t.co/jRuARMf3ii
Our most recent publication is out! In this paper, first author Kendall Case shows that VPA causes inositol depletion by reducing expression of the rate-limiting biosynthetic enzyme MIPS, rather than through MIPS phosphorylation as previously hypothesized. Congratulations Kendall
Dr. Maria Balazova of the Slovak Academy of Sciences spends a month visiting the Greenberg lab! Marias visit was filled with the sharing of scientific ideas, technical expertise, and many happy memories!
We are excited to announce that our latest paper has been published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry(JBC)! In this paper, we describe the first mechanistic details of how cardiolipin metabolism regulates expression of muscle transcription factor MyoD1 and muscle development
Having a great time at the GRC lipid biology conference. Was here 12 years ago as a PhD student from @mgreenberglab@WSUBioSci. Great to meet the current and former lab members. @gohillab
PhD candidate Kendall Case and lab alumna Dr. Linh Vo receive the Wayne State Biological Sciences Excellence in Research award for their outstanding contributions to the scientific community over the past year! Congratulations Kendall and Linh!
PhD candidate Chisom J. Onu gave a talk at the Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) and presented a poster in both the GRS and Gordon Research Conference held in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire!
PhD candidate Zhuqing Liang gave a talk at the Gordon Research Seminar (GRS) and presented a poster in both the GRS and Gordon Research Conference held in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire! Zhuqing was also elected to be chair for the 2025 GRS! Congratulations Zhuqing!
PhD candidate Kendall Case presented a poster in both the Gordon Research Seminar and Gordon Research Conference held at Waterville Valley, New Hampshire!
Summer reunion! Prof. Greenberg reunites with lab alumni at the 2023 Molecular and Cellular Biology of Lipids Gordon Research Conference in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire!
We are pleased to announce that Ph.D. candidate Linh Vo will defend her dissertation on Wednesday, 6/7/2023. Linh will discuss the role of cardiolipin metabolism in muscle development. Please message us for the Zoom link to this event. Good luck Linh!
