@bitcloud How do you define ireduceable? What are the conditions of such systems? As swarm behavior? Strong emergency?
And would you say a biological nerve cell will be always different than any silicon based?
@bitcloud I don't want to argue for ai consciousness. Nor do I argue against it. I would just like to point out that you could calculate with a similar grid on the paper the function of a biological nerve cell.
Silicon & biological life both operate in mechanistic calculations.
@bitcloud A video in a similar mechanistic style can be done about the function of a nerve cell. Would just like to know if in your view determinism is the criteria for denying consciousness (and how do you define it?)
@TylerAlterman This also makes me think of C. Thi Nguyen’s idea of life as play. Even in utopia, we wouldn’t just sit around in bliss. We’d create goals, constraints, games and narratives, hold them lightly, and lose ourselves in playing them well. Maybe that’s what a good life looks like...
@TylerAlterman I feel exactly the same. I’m much more drawn to a freedom that expands our capacity to participate in life: to create, to love deeply, to build wholesome connections & to give our lives narrative depth. Love & care feels almost like the organizing principle behind all of that.
@nosilverv@LeighStJohn33 A little turbulence creates more interfaces, more collisions, more chances for something new to dissolve into what’s already there.
@nosilverv@LeighStJohn33 Sugar dissolves faster in turbulent tea than in perfectly laminar flow. Maybe learning works similarly: a little turbulence gives ideas more surface area to interact with.
@justinskycak Stories & games do this naturally: they build nested networks of association, charging words, images and mechanics with meaning until those elements react like chemicals when recombined. Narrative depth comes first. then creative choices can resonate much more deeply.
@47fucb4r8c69323 Werner Herzog must love this "documentary", so many layers of subjective reality. even with recursion. the first subjective fractal in movie form?
@jimmywidman@albustime@shostekofsky magnesium biglycinate & glycine. multiple times of letting muscle & nerve tension go during the day, recognizing minimal light or sound sensitivity that builds up and closing shortly the eyes and trying to relax into soft daydreaming and rest. reducing sugar. getting enough sleep
@albustime@shostekofsky pulsating pressure pain, top & side of the head, also in the neck, light sensitivity, nausea, and cramp like pulses in the body
