The Smithsonian is a place to show our entire history, the good and the bad. You don't wipe out history just because there are parts we don't like. We leave it on display to see the consequences of those actions so that we don't make those mistakes again.
How can the people not panic, when they are losing jobs, paying more at the market ($7 for a dozen of eggs), increased insurance and property taxes, loss of Medicaid and the threat of losing Social Security the only retirement plan for some while others party at golf events?
What happened to government serving at the will of the people? Is it not obligated to promote public welfare? Looks like they are promoting their own welfare by getting wealthy at the expense of the people. Governmental accountability is lost.
Our candidate choice was two old men. One that truly cared about the people and justice for all. The other that cares about himself and getting his revenge justice on all. Now we have a new candidate that cares about the people, the law and justice. A refreshing fresh start.
What grown man when faced with an opposition resorts to calling people names. That is childish and a behavior we do not allow our children to do. It is a sign the person has nothing of value to say. What is even worse and shameful, is the person is allowed to get away with it.
This election let's talk about the issues: the welfare of the people, child health, taxes, immigration, the climate! Not a personal agenda of a lost election and desire to get even. Each parties candidate is aged, but who has the knowledge and desire to run the country!
Someone should find a way to explain the status of the economy so that people understand how it has gotten better. It is difficult to see improvement when rents are high and food and gas prices have risen. So you can get a job, but will it pay the rent.
On January 6, a year ago we watched in disbelief as a mob attacked the White House. Who would have thought such a thing would happen in the United State of America? Some try to deny it, but we all saw it with our own eyes. It is a blight on our history that will never go away.
A political candidate said today that the election was not about him. When decisions from the past have so overshadowed the concepts of the race that should be the focus of discussion; then it has become about the person. Your integrity is in question and is now the discussion.
We need, as a nation, to fundamentally go back to selecting those for political positions who are and can be good stewards of our wellbeing. Dare we entrust the decision making that affects the welfare of so many to an individual who has made such poor decisions in personal life.
We allow disparaging comments about one another and then the person who said the negative thing is okay, but the person who was the brunt of the joke is just supposed to take it. Think about the many negative things the former President said about so many and the damages done.
@nypost Will should have said, "You don't make jokes about another man's wife; and don't make jokes about a woman's hair." That would have had more traction than the slap.
Perhaps this is the time when, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. Or the one." For the good of tennis, the Australian Open and fellow tennis mates. Just saying....
