Family Beach Yoga & Community Clean Up was such a success. Thanks to @CleanOcean@BGCMonmouth & @Scarlet_Fliers Girl’s Tennis + all the Salted Souls who joined in Bradley Beach this weekend. The 45 participants & 33 giveaways left everyone’s hearts full & our beach a lot cleaner
My rainy Saturday started with leading our @Scarlet_Fliers through yoga & breathwork. Being an athlete is what brought me to yoga, but the mental clarity, improved focus & confidence are what made me stay committed to it. #DotheDifficult@TuneSoftball@NeptuneBaseball
Starting my bday with a beach clean up with the middle & high school softball teams & their families .. about 60 Fliers came out in support of @BradleyBeach_NJ . We ended with a bagel breakfast & confidence building activity @Scarlet_Fliers@_NeptuneHS#bestbirthdaygift

@teacher2teacher Students can share their Peaches & Pits of the day/ week with each other.. peaches are the part of fruit everyone enjoys.. what’s going well, what has brought them joy..Pits are the part of the fruit that no one likes much. What’s been challenging you this week? Weighing on you?
When you have a difficult, disrespectful, and defiant student, my biggest tip for you… is to have lots of conversations with them when they are not in trouble. These conversations are where you build rapport… and that rapport makes future confrontations less likely.
A student today after “Speed Dating” activity-“Ms. G, I’ve never talked to anyone that much before.”
Me- “Well, how do you feel now?”
Student- “My heart is racing. I got out of my comfort zone. I think I’m proud.”
#missionaccomplished school connections matter most
As an exit slip on Friday I had my students write a note to my new students. Choose a) what to expect/advice for class b) a motivational quote/lyric or c) something they enjoyed throughout the semester. Peer to peer feedback surpasses anything I can share. #meaningfulSEL
Finished out finals week with a sound bath meditation & envisioning our future success. Hoping my students take these mindful practices with them into their new semester & continue goal setting along the way @_NeptuneHS
Building meaningful relationships with your students is an important investment that carries over into so many other aspects of the classroom and throughout the school building.
