I've come across several posts stating Alya leaving had less to do with Boran and Meryem's evil machinations and more to do with the ambiguity surrounding Meryem (in relation to Ciho) and Alya's exhaustion.
I disagree.
While Alya was exhausted and rightly so, she kept fighting against Meryem in that van until Boran steps in and threatens to marry Meryem and take Serhat away from Cihan for good.
To me, her breakdown, the way she crumbles in front of Deniz, the way her eyes keep searching for Cihan at the airport mean quite clearly that she didn't want to leave.
She wants to be with Cihan and she feels horrible for leaving him at the meydan all alone.
But she hardens her heart and agrees to step away for one reason only - so that Cihan's chance at fatherhood isn't harmed by her presence again.
As for Cihan, I think Alya's absence will accomplish what her presence couldn't.
Cihan sometimes measures the strength of feelings by loss. In his mind, Meryem's presence looms large because losing her coincided on the same day as losing his father and his freedom.
So, the pain was all mixed up, if you get my drift.
But as we saw in the finale, even though Cihan's hands are covered in Şahin's blood, when he looks at that plane and realizes what's happened, the only thing that escapes his lips is 'Alya.'
Despite all kinds of grief and agony surrounding him at the meydan, the pain that takes precedence is losing Alya.
And that, I think, will only intensify when he learns the truth of why she leaves.
Which in turn will help Cihan understand what he thought was love in the past wasn't really it because the devastation he feels this time is unlike anything he's ever experienced.
As for Alya, she's way more attached to Cihan than she realizes. I feel her devastation will be off the charts too.
In other words, both of them will realize that this isn't something they can walk away from.
That this kind of love leaves life feeling unrecognizable in the other's absence. Because once someone becomes your home, every place without them feels like exile.
Aka, this separation will likely shatter everything they thought they understood about love yet again 🤷♀️

@Tarneem900 جولي ❤️

@DreamsInFrames I was watching ep 11 when Mine says she knows him to not love anyone except Meryem and she was ok with it until Alya showed up
You know this scene now hits different after actually seeing Mer, really dude! what did you find attractive in her and I'm not talking about beauty here
I agree that both Alya and Cihan were exhausted. I also agree that Cihan and Alya didnt really process what happened in that episode where Alya tries to leave with Sadakat's help.
But, did Alya want to leave? Did Cihan feel so bewildered he didn't want to stop her? I don't think so.
To me, Alya's hesitance began with Meryem's appearance. The shadow of Cihan's past she had long feared. Because of it, she suddenly felt less safe in her safe space - in Cihan.
Even though Cihan did his best to calm those fears, the way Alya tells him what they want and what happens dont match, to me, highlighted her fear.
The way she says Sadakat wants to install Meryem in Cihan's room. The way her presence makes her want to avoid the konak.
Meryem is Alya's nightmare in a way. Add to that the fact that Meryem claims she has a son with Cihan. But even then Alya refuses to give up on Cihan.
Its only when Boran says he'll marry Meryem and raise the child, did Alya break because the thought of Alya being the source of Cihan losing out yet again wasnt something she could bear.
In ep 19, when she says you never loved mine, you always loved meryem. You were forced to marry seyda, then me and her face crumples as she says it.
As for Cihan, he's rushing to Alya minutes after telling her he wont forgive her. Because the fear of losing Alya is unlike any other fear of his.
We've seen both Alya and Cihan give into their fears over and over in s2. So much so that even the most basic solution - talking and communicating - didnt occur to either.
Which is why, as horrible as this separation is, is perhaps a good thing. Like they say, sometimes the cure is more painful than the illness.
Maybe by being apart Cihan and Alya will finally understand existing without each other is quite possible. But what kind of life would that be?
For them to truly live, they need to stop surviving and start choosing each other without fear. To trust that love is not a debt to be repaid, nor a burden to be carried alone.
That becoming a family means learning that love is not about sacrifice for the other person, but trust in the person standing beside you.
