@educator4ever36 Watched it in my house. My 8 y.o. Was amazed by it. He hasn’t stopped talking about it and has asked multiple times to watch the live streams that nasa has of the mission. Inspired the next generation in my home.
After the incredible performances we’ve seen from our men’s and women’s hockey teams in Milan, all of Canada is cheering them on as they go for gold.
To help everyone get in the spirit of the games, I’ve directed the Minister of Education to make sure all Ontario students are able to watch the remaining Team Canada hockey games that take place during school hours, starting with tomorrow’s game.
Let’s all come together to cheer on Team Canada as they bring home Olympic gold!
The union representing more than 2,000 TVDSB educational assistants is pushing back against claims that high absenteeism is to blame for a rising special education deficit. @HeatheratLFP reports: https://t.co/H6gqyLApy2 #ldnont
There are many reasons for increasing student absences. Do not, however, underestimate the role played by violence, bullying, and overall student misbehaviour. #onted#cdned#edchat https://t.co/98BoDXluNj
@Deuce189@Teachers__Unite Funny, I was told the same thing. They told me not to go to media or talk about it with anyone outside of work. They are so scared of it becoming known. They prioritize saving their image over safety of those in a school.
@Deuce189@Teachers__Unite Me too. Sorry you had to deal with it. The negligence by admin is off the charts yet nothing is done. Don’t even get me started on the lack of consequences for students. That’s a whole different topic.
Great question. Why is it being allowed? Only job you can go to and be assaulted with weapons, have your life threatened, being physically assaulted to the point of injury and nothing be done. @fordnation@PaulCalandra when are you actually going to do something to end this?
@mskimmel@ladyisbudd@Teachers__Unite Agree with you. As an EA it’s exhausting trying to keep up with every need while doing the job of 3. Teachers definitely deal with a lot of the “lesser” behaviours when an EA can’t be there. Teachers deal with just as much violent, disruption and straight up abuse as EAs.
@AnaibakKabiana@ladyisbudd@Teachers__Unite Sadly this is the case in every school. Even schools with a big EA team, EAs are the first ones cut so there is never enough of us. EAs run from fire to fire there is no more acedemic support by EAs.
@ladyisbudd@Teachers__Unite Not when they keep cutting EAs and they are stretched so thin that we can’t do everything for every student. Teachers often have to handle behaviour alone when EAs aren’t available to assist
@ONTSpecialNeeds@our_children You know school staff have to do training for this yearly right? Not sure what point you are trying to get at with this one. All staff are well versed in our duty to report it’s on CAS to decide whether or not our reports warrant an investigation. Many times they are dismissed
@Kippy_mag_oddi@Teachers__Unite If only admin would be held accountable…. Oh wait that never happens. Blame is always pushed on to someone else. If you are in Ontario remember Principals are teachers; you can file a complaint to the teachers college.
