HAIR LOSS DRUG ACCIDENTALLY TREATS DIABETES
A pill originally meant to fight bald spots might actually help people with type 1 diabetes hang on to their insulin longer.
In a trial of 91 newly diagnosed patients, those taking Baricitinib needed less insulin and had better blood sugar control than the placebo group.
The drug works by calming down the immune system, so it stops nuking the pancreas cells that make insulin.
After 48 weeks, insulin production stayed stronger in those on the pill, but once they stopped taking it, their levels dropped right back down.
Translation: the drug helps while you're on it, but this isnโt a one-and-done magic bullet.
Still, no major side effects showed up, and researchers think it could hit the diabetes market within 5 years.

NEW EYE DROPS LET YOU READ WITHOUT GLASSES
Presbyopia - aka โI canโt read the menu anymoreโ syndrome - hits almost everyone over 40.
The usual fix? Reading glasses you forget, lose, or refuse to wear out of pride.
Now researchers say eye drops taken 2โ3 times a day can actually sharpen near vision in under an hour - and keep it that way for up to two years.
They tested it on 766 people. Most could read 2โ3 extra lines on the Jaeger chart (that tiny text test), and 99% of the mild cases saw clear improvement.
No lasers. No surgery. Just pilocarpine + diclofenac. Vision up, ego intact.
Side effects? Some dim vision, maybe a little irritation - nothing wild.
