The F-35I used by Israel only have a combat radius of around 1200km on internal fuel, when carrying heavy air to surface mentions (likely JDAM).

Israel to Tehran is 1500km.

Which means they must've been carrying external fuel tanks, which basically destroys their stealth profile. Yet, the F-35I still penetrated deep inside Iran. On top of that, they had ample warning.

The F-35I could've dropped their external fuel tanks outside of Iran, but it the pylons would still be attached, and they form a 90 degree angle with the wings, which should be a hotspot for radar reflections.

Iran has serious issues with their air defense systems, relating to training and equipment.
