US debt over $40 TRILLION
they don’t pay it off, and they can't. They just refinance, rolling it forward
as long as the dollar is accepted, this looks fine.
when it isn’t, the whole system feels it
fiat is a promise, $40T is a hell lot of promises

BREAKING: Japan's 10Y Bond Yield officially rises above 3.00% for the first time since 1996.
The move comes just hours after reports that US Treasury Secretary Bessent told Japanese officials that rate hikes are needed.
We are witnessing history and most people don't even realize it.
Good morning.
The yield watch continues as the 10-year US Treasury tops 4.80% and the 30-year approaches 5.30%.
The higher and longer yields persist, the more markets will be inclined to worry about interest rate risk turning into credit risk.

Malaysia should guarantee every citizen aged 75 and above RM500 a month for life.
About 850,000 of our oldest Malaysians would receive it.
Cost: RM5.1 billion a year.
That's only around 1.3% of the Federal Government's operating budget.
At 75, most Malaysians are no longer earning a salary. For many, their EPF savings are already severely depleted.
RM500 isn't enough to make anyone rich.
But it can pay for groceries, electricity, medicines and the small necessities of everyday life ; without having to ask their children for every ringgit.
And make it universal.
No means test.
No application.
No proving you're poor.
Turn 75, and Malaysia guarantees you RM500 every month.
Because a country should not allow someone who has worked for 40 or 50 years to reach the final years of life with zero income.
For RM5.1 billion a year, we can give 850,000 elderly Malaysians something extraordinarily important:
A minimum income. And a little dignity in old age.
Berikut beberapa ilmu perakaunan & pelaporan kewangan yg saya belajar sebagai seorang akauntan bertauliah dengan Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW).
3. Satu rukun - substance over form.
Lebih baik tumpu macam mana nak selesaikan masalah hutang rakyat akibat kena bail out TH.
The Iran war is threatening the core of the US empire... the Treasury market.
Foreign official UST holdings have fallen by $233B in just 4 months... Led by Japan and China.
Japan's UST holdings alone fell by $123B over the same period... That's more than 50% of the total decline in foreign official holdings.
No wonder Bessent wants to print money to prevent further UST selling.
The longer Hormuz stays closed -> the more countries will dump USTs -> the more desperate Bessent will have to get to stop them.
Breaking news: The US’s national debt has hit a record $40tn as borrowing rises at a historic pace, fuelling investor concerns about the state of America’s public finances despite Donald Trump’s vow to bring spending under control. https://t.co/JJIO7lHZc7
One of the most brutal scenes in human history has been exposed.
This video shows three young men trying to help an injured person, but Israel bombs them with a missile, killing them all.
A moment the world must never forget.
@khalidkarim Agree with your points but I wouldn’t go as far as “disastrous” if the next government is headed by BN. Even the current madani government still has BN influence
Iran: Low-Cost Missile Development and Production
In recent years, Iran has moved to fully domestic missile manufacturing at extremely low unit costs.
One example is the Kheibar Shekan, a ballistic missile that costs around US$1 million per unit. This figure is possible because the entire production chain is state-controlled, reverse-engineered technologies have been simplified, and local labor is cheap.
Managed directly by the IRGC, the production line eliminates the profit margins of large private defense corporations that drive Western weapons costs sky-high.
For a medium-range missile with terminal maneuverability and solid fuel, this is an extremely low price.
Western industries in the US and Israel simply cannot compete with this model.
Their development depends on private suppliers with high profit margins. Iran centralizes all fabrication in state-controlled industrial complexes and underground bases. The program was built and refined through reverse engineering, without the billion-dollar upfront R&D costs of original development.
The entire cycle runs at low cost.
The Kheibar Shekan is a third-generation solid-fuel missile. Solid motors are cheaper to mass-produce and require far less storage maintenance than liquid-fuel systems. Iran has also shifted to lighter, lower-cost composite materials in the airframe, cutting structural weight without expensive metal alloys.
Another key feature of Iranian missiles is the electronics approach. Western missiles rely on military-certified microchips that cost thousands of dollars each.
Iran has specialized in circumventing sanctions by adapting dual-use civilian electronics and commercial navigation sensors that deliver acceptable guidance accuracy at a fraction of the price.
The estimated US$1 million unit cost creates a severe asymmetry against the interceptors used to stop it. A Patriot interceptor runs US$4–6 million; a THAAD interceptor is in the US$12–15 million range per shot.
And the Kheibar Shekan is only one of these cheap missiles. The solid-fuel Zolfaghar, with a range of about 700 km, costs under US$300,000; The liquid-fuel EMAD, with a range over 1,500 km and high accuracy, was estimated by JINSA at approximately US$250,000 per unit on mass-assembly lines.
Even if the real cost reaches $500,000 or higher, it remains a fraction of the interceptors needed to try to shoot it down.
The Shahab-3, the traditional backbone of Iran’s medium-range force, has modern variants costing between US$1 million and US$3 million.
That is only slightly below the claimed hypersonic Fattah-1, estimated at US$2–3 million.
