Feels like every week brings a new milestone for RWAs on Solana.
Crossing $3.5B+ in RWA value is huge, and projects like @onrefinance recently surpassing $200M AUM show that this growth isn't just numbers on a dashboard, it's real adoption happening in real time.
One thing I always pay attention to in Web3 is whether a project is building something people can actually use.

That's one of the reasons I'm following @THATGLOBAL. they're making crypto payments part of everyday life.
Being able to walk into a local business, pay through the app, and automatically earn 5% #THATBACK is a simple idea, but it's the kind of user experience that can make a real difference.
What also stood out to me is the growing merchant network.
With more than 200 businesses across the Gold Coast already accepting payments through THAT, it's clear the focus is about creating value for both merchants and customers.
I'll be keeping an eye on how the ecosystem continues to grow because this is the kind of steady progress that often goes unnoticed until it becomes the norm. ๐
This is one of those things that sounds obvious once you think about it.
If crypto payments still need to be converted into fiat before they can actually be used, then we're not really replacing the system. We're just adding extra steps to it.
The real shift happens when people and businesses can transact directly in crypto without relying on the old rails underneath. That's where things start to get interesting.
I think independent risk assessments will become increasingly important as RWAs scale.
An A- rating from Allez Labs adds another layer of confidence around ONyc's structure, liquidity, and integration across the Solana ecosystem. It's encouraging to see institutional standards being brought on chain.
The race to reinvent money has produced no shortage of bold promises.
Thousands of cryptocurrencies have claimed they would change finance forever. Most became investments people watched on price charts.
Very few became something you could actually use to buy lunch, pay a freelancer, or settle a bill halfway around the world.
That is the gap @THATGLOBAL is taking aim at.
Instead of asking people to treat digital currency like a speculative asset, THAT is focused on making it useful in everyday life.
The goal is to make sending and receiving money fast, affordable, and easy, no matter where people live or do business.
The true measure of THAT will not be found in headlines or market chatter. It will be seen in coffee shops, online stores, airport lounges, and neighborhood businesses where paying and getting paid becomes faster, simpler, and effortless.
That is where meaningful change takes root, one everyday transaction at a time.
think about the last time you actually paid for something with crypto.
a coffee, a t-shirt, anything. most people can't remember.
crypto turned into something you trade and watch instead of something you spend.
that wasn't the original idea.
@THATGLOBAL is built around fixing that.
a fixed supply token designed for simple, direct payments between people and merchants who choose to accept it.
you send, they receive, the transaction settles on-chain and that's it.
it's a direct transfer, person to person, with nothing standing in between.
the goal is to make crypto actually usable for everyday things.
the bigger question is whether enough merchants get on board for this to actually matter.
that's the part worth paying attention to.
would you use it if more places accepted it?
Most people talk about owning assets in Web3.
@THATGLOBAL is exploring something equally important: owning your identity, reputation, and communities online.
If the future internet is really going to be user-owned, then solving digital identity and social ownership will be a huge piece of that puzzle.
I'm curious to see how this evolves.
It's pretty impressive to see OnRe become one of the largest RWA markets on Kamino.
$160M+ market size and $50M+ borrowed shows that reinsurance-backed yield is finding real traction onchain.

As ONyc grows across different markets and products, having independent risk oversight becomes even more important. Good growth is one thing. Sustainable growth is another.
