BIG: A Chinese AI model from https://t.co/rSk7AAD4tc has caught up with its American counterparts in the field of cybersecurity, according to independent benchmarks.
GLM-5.2, released on June 16 under an MIT license by https://t.co/rSk7AAD4tc — the Tsinghua University spinout formerly known as Zhipu AI — outperformed Anthropic's Claude Code on Semgrep's IDOR vulnerability detection benchmark, scoring roughly 39 percent F1 against Claude's 32 percent.
It did so at approximately one-sixth the cost per vulnerability identified.
The result is notable because cybersecurity has been viewed as a domain where US labs held a clear lead.
GLM-5.2 is freely downloadable from Hugging Face and runs on standard open inference stacks.
BREAKING: The NSA's own director says Mythos broke into almost all of its classified systems in hours.
Per The Economist, Senator Mark Warner, vice chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said General Joshua Rudd, who runs the NSA and the Pentagon's Cyber Command, told him this directly.
This came out on June 11, the same day Amazon reportedly found a separate jailbreak in Anthropic's models. Within hours, Trump ordered Anthropic to cut off foreign access to Mythos and Fable.
Anthropic shut both down completely instead.
Now there are two competing stories for why this actually happened.
One says the shutdown was a response to the NSA's own classified systems getting breached in hours.
The other says Anthropic is privately pushing back, calling the jailbreak minor and the shutdown an overreaction to something other AI models can already be tricked into doing.
The NSA was already using Mythos for its own cyber operations, with Anthropic engineers embedded inside the agency. The same tool the agency was actively relying on is the one its own director says broke into almost everything it owns.

Là où la concurrence fabrique ses microLED sur des substrats plats en saphir, les ingénieurs grenoblois font pousser des nanofils en trois dimensions directement sur du silicium, le matériau utilisé dans l’industrie mondiale des semi-conducteurs. Cette méthode pourrait réduire les coûts de fabrication d’un facteur cinq à dix.
L’entreprise ne vise pas seulement les téléviseurs ou les montres connectées. Avec sa technologie µLink, elle se positionne également sur les futures interconnexions photoniques destinées aux centres de données et à l’intelligence artificielle, un marché qui pourrait devenir encore plus lucratif que celui des écrans.

Elon Musk isn't the only one getting richer from SpaceX going public.
The stock’s surge is estimated to have turned about 4,400 current and former employees into millionaires through equity compensation accumulated during their time at the company.
SpaceX’s long-awaited IPO raised a record $75 billion, valuing the company at roughly $1.8 trillion.
The offering also pushed Musk’s estimated net worth past the $1 trillion mark, further cementing his position as the world’s richest person.
Now Wall Street is watching to see whether the stock's early trading can drive SpaceX’s valuation even higher, rewarding employees and investors who backed the company during its rise.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees.
The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance.
Access to all other Claude models is not affected.

Elon just created 4,400 millionaires in a single day.
400 of them are now worth over $100 million.
These aren't VCs. They're SpaceX employees, and the list includes welders, technicians, and cafeteria staff, because for two decades the company paid every level of the workforce in stock instead of higher salaries.
Juan Hernandez immigrated from Mexico and took a $28 an hour contractor welding job in 2015. He says he didn't even know what SpaceX was. The company gave him a $10,000 equity grant and let him buy more shares through payroll deductions. That stake is now worth $880,000.
Trevor Hise's parents wanted him to take a stable job at General Electric. He picked SpaceX instead, stayed 12 years, and accumulated over 100,000 shares. At the $135 listing price that's $13.5 million. He's 37 and semiretired. His words: "The magnitude of this has been ridiculous."
The most telling detail came before the listing. Over 100 employees quietly banded together and negotiated a group wealth management deal covering up to $5 billion, because none of them had ever needed a wealth manager before.
Software IPOs have minted millionaires for 30 years. This is the first one where the money went to the factory floor.
