My dad passed away this week and
I thought this was a neat story we found and wanted to share. My dad farmed with his brothers and in 1973 the John Deere magazine called The Furrow did a little write up of their new 6601 pull type combines they bought.

She’s a trooper. We are planning to move everyone tomorrow as we have done about all we can with this three week limited diet. We bring in feed every morning for her group then watch consumption. She has been on a diet to help keep calf from getting larger. Time will tell

Overcast morning update
It’s a nice warm and damp morning. The wheat hay was excellent quality and is mostly eaten up. We fed a broken bale so it ended in a pile mostly. They didn’t care I guess

Rain! We got about 0.30 inches here. A nice spring shower.
88’is walking easily this morning. Was walking pretty quickly as herd heads to water.
They are getting a first cutting bale today so a change in diet. Fresh wheat hay w heads in the boot.
