Paying ₹3,600 a year just to receive a bank OTP, is this really a Mobile Service or an "OTP Tax"?

Today, a Mobile Number is required for almost everything important

Banking
UPI
KYC
Credit Cards
Insurance
Government Services
2FA / OTPs

If your SIM becomes inactive,
access to several essential financial and digital services can become difficult.

But if someone does not need Mobile Data, already has Wi Fi at home,
and uses the SIM only for OTPs, SMS and incoming calls,

why should they still have to pay for expensive bundled recharge plans ?

Imagine a family of 6

₹3,600 × 6 = ₹21,600 per year.

Just to keep their mobile numbers active.

If people already have Wi Fi at home,

why should not there be a ₹500/year basic plan that provides only essential services like incoming calls and OTP or SMS ?

Telecom companies have every right to make money by selling data
that’s fair.

But here’s the bigger question

In Digital India, should people really have to spend thousands of rupees
every year just to maintain access to essential services like Banking,
KYC and 2FA ?

If a Mobile Number has effectively become part of our Digital Identity,

should not there also be an affordable basic plan simply to keep the SIM active ?

Maybe it’s time for TRAI to seriously consider this.

I don't understand these communists!

Day and night, they keep flaunting pictures of Ambedkar and copies of the Constitution.

They keep saying, "Desh Samvidhan se chalega, kisi ki baat se nahi."

But when it comes to following the principles of Ambedkar and the Constitution, they are the first ones to undermine them.

Let's take a simple example.

According to the Constitution, Supreme Court orders are binding, and everyone, including the government, is expected to follow them.

Today, the Supreme Court ordered the government to investigate the FIRs related to the mobs who allegedly attacked police and RAF personnel.

Now, Saurav Das and Dipke are asking the government not to follow the Supreme Court's orders.

पेपर्स लीक की घटना में धर्मेंद्र प्रधान की प्रत्यक्ष भूमिका नहीं थी, क्योंकि पेपर लीक उन्होंने नहीं कराया था। लेकिन शिक्षा मंत्री होने के नाते पूरे सिस्टम की जवाबदेही उनके ऊपर बनती थी, इसलिए उनसे उत्तरदायित्व की अपेक्षा की गई और अंततः उन्हें इसकी राजनीतिक जिम्मेदारी भी लेनी पड़ी।
ठीक उसी तरह, जब किसी आंदोलन या प्रदर्शन का नेतृत्व आप करते हैं और लोगों को उसके लिए संगठित करते हैं, तो उस प्रदर्शन के दौरान हुई हिंसा, अराजकता या किसी भी अप्रिय घटना की नैतिक और सार्वजनिक जवाबदेही भी आपसे जुड़ती है। केवल भीड़ जुटाने का ��्रेय लेना और फिर हिंसा होने पर जिम्मेदारी से पल्ला झाड़ लेना उचित नहीं है।
जिम्मेदारी केवल सफलता की नहीं होती, परिणामों की भी होती है।
यदि नेतृत्व आपका था, तो जवाबदेही से बचना संभव नहीं है।
