Aaah after a full week I came home to this waiting at my door! ๐ป๐ป๐ป
Thank you Charlene for such a perfect thoughtful gift! Itโs sitting on my desk! I appreciate being surround by things that make me smile & is a great reminder of the special friends that surround me! ๐๐๐๐ป
I am still learning how to reflect, protect myself, set healthy boundaries, and support people around me in a better way. It is still difficult, but your book helped me feel that I am not alone, and that many people are trying to learn these things too.
This message from a reader truly melts my heart and affirms my purpose in writing my book! ๐๐ป
โRecently, I finished
reading your book The Mental Health Contagion, and I just wanted to write to say thank you.
Although the book is not very long, it took me quite a while to..
It also made me reflect on myself. Some of the things you described as what not to do may have been things I have done before, even with good intentions. That was not always easy to realize, but it was very meaningful.
for a long time. It felt as if, after teaching us the tools and walking with us through the journey, you were gently reminding us that the next part of the path โ the next mountain โ is ours to climb.
Your book helped me deepen my understanding of Mental Health First Aid.
read it. Many of the examples and steps resonated with me deeply, so I found myself reading slowly and reflecting a lot along the way.
When I reached the final chapter, โClimbing Your Mountain,โ I actually felt a little reluctant to finish the book. I have not had that feeling
Such an incredible experience! I won in so many ways! Iโll be sure to post my speech when I get the footage.
I placed 5th but in my books I placed first in the experience, the impact and being part of such a stellar group of speakers!

So, youโll find me in the next few days leading up to this faaabulous event nurturing my nervous system even more than usual.
Quiet time, feel good food, sleeping when my body needs it (yes, I plan on some naps!) โฆ. Iโm open to any other suggestions too!
Iโll let you in on a little secretโฆ.
For years, before I keynote speak, facilitate an event or have any reason where Iโm center stage, Iโm become anxious.
I canโt sleep the night before and the โafterโ doesnโt feel any better.
I feel the build up and then the coming downโฆ.
This isnโt about making sure Iโm prepared- believe me this is covered, Iโve been eating sleeping and breathing this speech!
My body naturally goes into fight or flightโฆ.
So Iโm preparing myself differently this time. Iโm on purpose with calming activities leading up to Tues.
The fact that this event is a competition is a whole new level to my usual performance anxiety!
My speaker coach @teriKingston shared with me yesterday, โyou arenโt competing, you are communicatingโ
WOW that really landed for me!
Instead of focusing on my desire to be perfect. Iโm anchoring my attention on the value of what Iโm delivering to the audience.
I grew up with 3 brothers and I come from a very competitive family. So I come my desire to โWINโ naturally.
