@RutgersAltRoute Q5. Highlight the goal or objective and work with the student to see if their solution can be supported. Then, providing feedback to correct the answer while maintaining the students' confidence in problem-solving.#TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute Q4: Challenges- time constraints, unmotivated middle school students, using AI for classwork
Opportunities- reducing questions on test/quiz, providing different forms of projects ie one pager, powerpoint, oral presentation, etc.#TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute A3. Presenting learning as a process that encourages and welcomes mistakes. Lowering the stress of the student to "get it right." So students are more likely to improve when faced with challenges. #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute Q2. Teachers can create a safe and supportive environment conducive to learning. Encouraging mistakes and providing feedback to create learning opportunities. #TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute Q1 Mindset can shape the abilities of a student and limit their capacity to attempt difficult tasks. It discourages students from growth. There is an opportunity to help students adapt to mistakes as a learning goal.#TeacherEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute A5 Start the students early on learning those life skills they will eventually learn in High School. Being consistent, flexible and collaborating with Colleagues to improve the students success. #TeacherEd#SpEd
@RutgersAltRoute A4 I empower my students by teaching them the language to express those needs, usually it starts off by giving them a verbal sentence starter, rephrasing or clarifying their needs in form of a question they can answer.#TeacherEd#SpEd
@RutgersAltRoute A3 Integrating students in small groups to increase participation, using differentiated instruction, scaffolding, visuals, repetition and an overall safe learning environment #TeacherEd#SpEd
@RutgersAltRoute A2 Assigned seating is used as our students have Aids. Taking breaks and going for a walk to reduce overstimulation, providing adaptive structure in classwork and keeping the family in the loop with updates.#TeacherEd#SpEd
@RutgersAltRoute A5. As simple as it sounds, I make it a point to greet the students by name. Interact with them in the hallways. Beyond the classroom, I’ve volunteered at a food drive, which allowed me to connect with the community. #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute A4. Providing the students with a clear definition and expectations of what it means to be a bystander vs upstander. Sharing safe intervention examples like getting help from an adult. Also, I would include real-life situations to touch upon their empathy. #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute A3. Actively listening without judgment while validating their feelings so the students feel heard. Connecting them to school based support, like the guidance counselor or school social worker. #TeacherEd#SafeSchools
@RutgersAltRoute A2. As of right now, I haven’t observed HIB behavior. The admin and teachers do a good job at nipping conflicts between students early on. Even if it’s just playing around, it can escalate quickly so it’s best to correct behavior early. #TeacherEd#SafeSchool
@RutgersAltRoute A1. By building strong relationships with my students from day one. Fostering a positive atmosphere where they can approach me and I actively listen to them. Also, letting them know about the resources we have at the school so they may receive extra support. #TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute I actually feel quite isolated within the larger ed community, and technology and discussions like this forces me to explore options that others at my school haven’t before! I love the belief that educating children can be a collective, global feat. #EdTech#TeacherEd
@RutgersAltRoute In my department, we had a meeting and there we shared all the resources we are currently using, especially some of the apps that are provided to us by the department, like HMH. I go find that ig has great reels on education as well. #TeacherEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute A4. Using technology like ClassDojo to update the parents on the progress of their child. Also, sending emails with more personal details about the glows and grows of the child keeps the family engaged. #TeacherEd#EdTech
@RutgersAltRoute I find that some, if not most, students use AI to retrieve answers and take a shortcut rather than attempting to do the work. Utilizing the CellPhone parking lot from TeachersToolKit while in class can encourage students to work in pairs or individually. #TecaherEd#EdTech
