Cardano is becoming a Bitcoin layer.
Listen to BOS co-founder @EdanYago explain the magnitude of this moment.
"We are looking at an entirely new phase for Bitcoin, Cardano, crypto, and finance."
And you anon keep fudding IOG engineering for writing ledger proofs in Agda.
Cardano as one of the only blockchains in the world I am aware of actually has ledger rules with formal verification proofs in Agda...
You have no idea how forward thinking often IOG is with their ideas. They are building not the easy way but hard and secure way.

My old Dem buddies have been flooding me with frantic calls, texts, and emails. Unlike Ro, I wouldn’t dream of airing those private conversations publicly, but the message is clear: they’re terrified of the idea of our movement joining forces with Donald Trump. When I point out what the Democratic Party and their super PACs have done to sabotage our campaign, their response is always, “but Trump is worse.” Here’s an idea: stop suing us. Let us debate. Quit rigging the media and the polls. It’s a simple formula, people—get with it.
Today I’m going to set the record straight by explaining my exact posture, point-by-point, on what is probably the most controversial issue of my campaign—a medical safety issue that impacts every one of us. If you take a few minutes to listen, I think you might be surprised to find out how much we actually agree.
I do not condone toxicity, but I can speak to the visceral feeling I get when reading this.
Mainly, the TPS "standards" you claim are industry wide are not indicative of real world performance for a deterministic eUTxO model. Perhaps the reason for this is that no other chain went to such extreme lengths, even against the wishes of some early builders, to preserve full determinism. This was and continues to be painful; it requires builders to develop whole new methodologies, tooling, infra, e.t.c. for their applications that are not easily portable from other ecosystems.
But why then do we (devs) put up with this?
It's not because we're in a cult or we're delusional.
It is because the advantages we get from making such sacrifices are that good. Somewhat akin to the pain the software industry went through (and continues to go through) as increasing processor parallelization takes over increasing clock cycle speed as the dominant performance enhancer.
Specifically, we have access to scaling solutions that are infeasible on other architectures. This goes far beyond "multi-input, multi-output". It's more so the interplay between isomorphic state channels + sequencer-less zk proofs that unlocks seamless/interoperable value flow through the entire decentralization/security -- speed/finality tradeoff space. Much of this is not yet implemented, though there is a clear and obvious roadmap to do so. This is in addition to some other eUTxO-exclusive features like Tx-chaining and/or (atomic) intent aggregation, optimistic double spend resolution, and other scaling solutions that are not exclusive to UTxO that we see in other ecosystems as well.
I, and no one else I've seen is arguing that Cardano is currently "the most used chain in the world". What I am arguing is that no system is yet even close to the (infinite) capacity needed for (infinite) global demand, and so it would be prudent to make one's long term bets according to what is feasible/probable in the limit, given a certain architecture and set of assumptions, and not simply what is currently implemented.
And so again, I agree with you that toxicity is often distasteful and damaging. But when I see posts like this that totally miss the point of all the sacrifices and innovations we went through as an ecosystem, precisely so that we could do things differently, and thus be measured differently, I will not abide.
Update: DDOSer halted his attack after reading my tweet in an effort to protect his funds. Alas, they were too late and the pillaging of their funds is already in progress.
Thanks for the free money moron.
Truly iconic that the attacker who presumably wanted to damage the ecosystem actually ended up donating to the open-source smart contract development work we do at @AnastasiaLabs & funding Midgard.

Seeing all the dunking on Cardano makes me smile a bit. We are holding all the cards as an ecosystem. We have the best path for scalability, governance, and innovation. We also have the best community.
Chang is coming soon as measured by progress on SanchoNet. Ouroboros Leios is the biggest step forward towards solving the blockchain trilemma ever. Our research labs are scaling up, we are now at 209 papers with much faster research translation.
I wouldn't bet against an ecosystem with the ability to engage and unlock millions of people, has an on-chain sovereign wealth fund, and has never failed in 2300+ days of uptime 24/7.
The problem with our industry is that we let short-term narratives and carnival barkers dominate the conversation. AI has the same issue. A few months ago, Open AI dominated everything, then claude 3, now we got Grok 1.5, and soon Llama 3.
The winners have foundations that are built to last generations and a community that respects and maintains those foundations. There is no substitution for this reality.
So #ethereum has a 51% attack in the hands of a few locked staking operators costs a fortune to do anything. #solana is 100% centralised, goes down every few months, and when it doesn't it just refuses to complete transactions. #cardano is the only actually working chain. $ADA
Charles’ most recent video (“Scale”) summarizes the state of play.
TLDR: no one’s really solved the trilemma yet; those that are “scalable” have sacrificed Satoshi’s vision.
Name of the game is to pick 2/3, do them really well, then carefully and methodically progress towards the third, while preserving the first two.
So the broad question for ALL projects/investors that aspire to solve the trilemma becomes:
What properties make the most sense for a foundation upon which to build up to solving the trilemma?
IMO if you are an investor that believes in the philosophy/principles of Satoshi’s vision, then it is a bit of a cop out to say “I won’t invest until I see a chain that scales”. Once it becomes obvious, it’s immediately priced in. The point of investing is to bet on the most likely non-obvious future outcome.
For the purposes of this thread, I claim eUTxO is a better foundation than Accounts because of how much easier the former makes it is to reconcile on/off chain stuff, versus the latter. **I cannot prove this in practice, only in theory.** The same can be said for every investor/builder who’s betting on a solution to the trilemma.
And so I beseech you for your thoughts:
Do you believe the trilemma is solvable, and if yes, what do you think the ideal starting point looks like?
