Australia is currently experiencing one of its lowest fertility rates in history besides in 2020 during the COVID pandemic.

However, he apologised immediately to the community and player he said it to, therefore the ban was lessened.

Jeremy Finlayson from Port Adelaide is the first AFL player to be suspended for using a homophobic phrase during a game.

He will receive a 3 week match-ban and will have to attend a training course on LGBTQIA+ which he will pay for himself.
