๐จ๐ฃ๏ธ Zinedine Zidane Proposes Separate Awards for Club and International Football
โThe Ballon dโOr organisers need to be more consistent with their decisions.
They used La Liga performances to award Lamine Yamal the Kopa Trophy over Pau Cubarsรญ, relied on World Cup performances to award Unai Simรณn the Yashin Trophy over David Raya, ignoring a whole season of club football and used Bundesliga performances to award Harry Kane the Gerd Mรผller Trophy over Kylian Mbappรฉ, despite Mbappรฉ's incredible scoring record.
They also prioritised Champions League success when selecting Club of the Year, yet placed greater emphasis on international tournament success when choosing Coach of the Year over managers who delivered outstanding results at club level.
So, which criteria actually matter: domestic league performances, Champions League success or international tournaments?
If the organisers cannot apply consistent standards across every category, they should separate club football awards from international football awards.
Players and managers deserve recognition based on clear, fair criteria, not standards that appear to change from one award to another. The Ballon dโOr needs reform.

@McFlybowy You literally just said heโs right few minutes ago, you said heโs bigger than the award and youโre saying this just few minutes later?

Real Madrid are ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐!
Jose Mourinho dropped to his knees and celebrated Real Madridโs victory over Barcelona with his tongue out and his fist clenched โ a typical Mourinho moment.
But El Clasico also delivered two important messages about the project taking shape at Madrid under their Portuguese coach.
The first was that this team has the footballing quality and the resources to compete with a Barcelona side that went into the game as favourites.
The second was that, at 63, Mourinho still has plenty to offer at the highest level of European football, despite not having won a league title since the 2014-15 Premier League triumph during his second spell at Chelsea.
Even within the short context of this season so far, it marked something of a dramatic turnaround for the Bernabeu club.
