There’s a reason Arsenal didn’t win the Premier league in the seasons where Havertz was their main starting CF.
The only season he missed 90% of the league games, Arsenal won the league with Gyökeres as their CF.
You will learn these lessons by force this season.
Haaland today has 19 touches on the ball:
5 shots with 2 on target.
Havertz against Coventry had 38 touches on the ball (twice as much as Haaland):
1 shot all game and on target.
You see how City play with Haaland? That’s how we ought to play with Gyokeres.
You don’t expect him to drop deep like Havertz, you create chances for him so he takes more shots.
Havertz can roam round the pitch but he’s toothless up front. He makes others better.
See, this is the problem with Arsenal fans - they're flat out liars. Rarely do you get the full story from them. Madueke appeared in the PL/CL 36 times last season and only had end product in 6 of those appearances.
Madueke is TRASH.
This Gyökeres vs Havertz back-and-forth is hilarious because the reason Arsenal were desperate for a striker last summer was precisely because they had failed to win the title after years of Havertz leading the line.
There was a general consensus that Arsenal needed a striker, especially one who could consistently score goals. Gyökeres was signed, and he delivered the title.
Last season, with Gyökeres leading the line, Arsenal were seven points clear of City. Havertz returned to the team, and the gap dropped to two points. Arsenal came close to bottling the league again, got knocked out of the FA Cup, lost the Carabao Cup, all within the space of two weeks with Havertz starting those games, and came close to being knocked out of the UCL too.
Then Gyökeres returned to the starting XI against Fulham, and suddenly the title charge got back on track. The UCL dream got back on track against Atlético too.
You can’t rewrite history.
I have nothing against Havertz, but the way his fans parade him as the saviour when he was always present at the crime scene of Arsenal’s failures over the past few seasons is hilarious.
One more league title and i’m saying he’s our greatest ever keeper. 3 golden gloves in a row, passes the eye test big time. Title winning save against West Ham too, you lot can do up nostalgia if you like, Raya is IT
