Seismic Testnet is live.
We built it alongside 30 financial services companies, from fintech startups, to regulated institutions, to local governments.
Today, we're excited to share that a large number of @commonwarexyz primitives are now "stable" (with 93% test coverage and Long-Term Support guarantees):

@ravi_riley nice read - do you know off the top of your head why the receiver in an ACH debit is credited immediately, before the sender's bank has received the request? why isn't it handled like a ACH credit?
Our consensus client just got an upgrade.
Summit now supports dynamic validator sets, meaning:
✅ It runs an EVM equivalent proof-of-stake system where validators can enter and exit over time.
✅ It forms a new committee at each epoch, with a fresh instance of Simplex.
✅ It is permissionless, allowing any node that meets network requirements to participate.
Welcome, @tempo
Today, we're thrilled to share that Tempo is building with the @commonwarexyz Library, supporting our growth as a new core contributor, and accelerating our research and engineering with a strategic investment.

The EU initiative Going Dark has now been launched by the EU Commission. They call it ProtectEU.
It’s a rebranding of Chat Control. New name. Same old propaganda.
The EU Commission’s goal is to “access encrypted data in a lawful manner, safeguarding cybersecurity and fundamental rights.”

Not long ago, I used to have a more optimistic impression of Rust users. I would not have guessed that so many otherwise-judicious people would go for blatantly AI-"maintained" Rust libraries.
The `serde_yml` crate is a fork of a high-quality but unmaintained library. In the fork, the AI has taken initiative to add a big heap of stuff that is variously complete nonsense (https://t.co/5Fhf6fMj8E, https://t.co/FJt1TpOHl5) or unsound (https://t.co/DdhmIyuFvA). On top of this, the crate's documentation has been broken in docs·rs for the last 5 months because AI hallucinated a nonexistent rustdoc flag into the crate's configuration.
And yet 134 other published packages have chosen to adopt this? Including high-profile competently maintained projects like Jiff (for tests only), axodotdev, Wasmer, MiniJinja, and Holochain. This does not bode well.
The bar for someone to do better at a YAML library is so low.
