If you don’t fear insult or disrespect from society…
if you don’t care when someone calls you a loser…
if you don’t fear the worst that can happen to a person, then there is no suffering, no pain, no sadness.
All pain, misery, and suffering appear only when nature wants to do something harsh to you — or to someone in front of you — but you idiots want everything to be “good” for them and for yourself.
If you stop fighting nature and simply accept the wrong that nature does to the people you love, then there is no pain or suffering left.
Your real problem is that you identify yourself as a son, brother, husband, and so on.
You came through your father and mother, but they are not “you” in any real sense.
They are just the inviters of your soul.
The same goes for every relationship — sister, brother, wife.
The more responsibility you take to make them happy, the more pain and suffering you create for yourself.
This world is drowning in misery because everyone is trying to make someone else happy… and failing.
Life does not reward that. Life is individualistic in nature.
Everyone reaps the fruit of their own actions.
So make sure your actions are aligned first and foremost with your own happiness.
Then help others only as much as needed.
You can’t be with people all the time.
They have their own heads, their own minds, their own vision of life — and based on that they will create their own happiness or misery.
Drop the constant controlling.
Accept things as they are.
Focus on the one thing you actually control — improving yourself, making yourself happy, becoming independent from everything.
People say “be detached,” “be stoic,” and in many Indian families, parents tell their sons not to SHIVA ( Means that which is not ) worship too much because they will become detached (vairagya).
So what does vairagya actually mean?
And how does Shiva worship bring detachment?
When you meditate on Shiva’s energy by any method, it dismantles the karmic connections you have with people and things.
That gives you the upper hand.
Once the karmic connection between you and others weakens, you don’t get pulled by them.
You can see them, you can feel things — but you stay in control.
Your reactions stop being impulsive and compulsive.
