3,449 total votes. Not to bad for my first time running! Thank you everyone whose trust I earned. 5,820 people voted for my opponent. I respect those voters decisions and I hope to earn their trust next time! #MichaelWillAlwaysBeForVallejo

about our community’s needs, how our city operates, what has worked in the past and what hasn’t worked. I know for certain that I am not an expert and I am fully committed to continuing to learn, to listen, and to engage with the community to fight for change. (Cont.)
It is reassuring to know that this is just the beginning for me. I am grateful for all of the support and encouragement because I know I have a long road ahead of me. I will step back into my role with Vessels of Vallejo - the work is just beginning. (Cont.)
to position myself in the best way possible since day one.
It is an understatement to simply say I have learned a lot on this journey. This experience has been like no other. To fully immerse myself in a constant state of learning has been amazing. I have learned so much (Cont.)
*Concession thread: I would like to congratulate Mina Loera - Diaz on her win, and on becoming the first Latina Councilmember of Vallejo. That is HUGE! I know District 3 is in good hands.
I did not win but I can wholeheartedly say my team and I gave it everything we had. (Cont.)
blessing me with the best team anyone could ask for. I would like to thank everyone in District 3 who voted for me and for every single person who donated their money, time, effort, and/or energy to my campaign. I want to thank my team for challenging me and helping me (Cont.)
@leschwartzberg@michael4vallejo I'll add to this. I've interviewed this man since he was playing football at AmCan. Very humble and kind, but more than anything, he seemed motivated. At all the marches he was at I'll never forget how others seemed inspired by him. Wishing the best for him as he moves forward.
Huge kudos to @michael4vallejo. I know it’s not the result you were looking for, but you ran a great campaign and secured over a third of the vote despite blatant bias against your race and age. I have no doubt you will continue to do great things for our city.
@louismichael_11 Louis Michael turns in his ballot for the 2020 election. Michael is running for District 3 council member. Look for stories on election now and all night @vjotimesherald
Election Day is here! If you don't have any plans tonight, join my team and I as we get together to celebrate! Win or lose, this has been an amazing journey. We will live stream our event so you can be a part of the party. Live stream will start at 8pm. See you then!
Fact: Only 3% of Black people were registered to vote in the south by 1940 because of voter suppression.🤯 I am honored to be able to exercise a right that many of my ancestors couldn't. #votevotevote
