I don't follow the "respect is earned" philosophy. I respect everyone automatically and then each person has the opportunity to lose my respect based on their behavior.
I’m gonna be so honest here and yes I’ve been afraid to say it but now it’s more relevant since Maxx Crosby is no longer available:
I am not 100% sold on us signing Trey Hendrickson at cost.
This doesn’t mean I’ll be upset at us signing him, but a good majority of this fanbase is thinking we’d be signing prime Trey Hendrickson and is guaranteed to have a 13+ sack season. It very well could be the case and if we land, I hope to God it is.
But let’s look at the facts here. Trey is coming off a season that was cut short due to a season ending injury at the age of 30. Before his injury, he played 7 games and had 4 sacks. If you extrapolate that number over a 17 game season, he would’ve ended up with about 9.5 sacks.
“But he was on the Bengals! He didn’t have the help he would have in Chicago!”
Sure, but he also had back to back 17.5 sack seasons with no help either. We are now 2 seasons removed from 2024 and for some reason, we’re expecting him to return to old form when he wasn’t even that last year.
Another huge thing that nobody is considering (@JoeySangwich_ called this out when D Hunter got extended), is that Danielle Hunter just got paid $40 Million. We may not even be able to sign Trey for anything less than $30 Million…
So now we have 3 big red flags concerning signing him:
- Will turn 32 during the 2026 season.
- Is coming off a season ending injury in his 30s
- Will likely command a ton of money because of recent edge rusher extensions and a possible bidding war with Dallas and Philly.
I’m sorry, but if I’m Ryan Poles, I’m either looking at other options in free agency (Mack, Phillips, etc.) or trying my hand at other possible trade candidates (Dexter Lawrence, Myles Garrett, etc.)
At the end of the day, I’m just a regular Bears fan who will trust the guys that are much smarter at making football decisions than I am. So I trust Ryan Poles and Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen to steer this franchise in the right direction🐻⬇️ #DaBears
Ok I’m not a big Colin Cowherd guy. This is one of the best takes I’ve ever heard from him. It’s a spot on analysis about Caleb Williams.

Makes absolutely no sense why we have our safety manned up 10 YARDS off the ball and it’s 3rd and 6.
Gave them the game winning 1st down on a silver platter.
It's so discouraging how Chicago Bears management is dead set on eventually building a new stadium that will be entirely indoors—against the will of so many fans.
Win or lose, this is beautiful. This is how football should be played in the winter.
