@mbstauber I wrote a comprehensive summary of Jorge Reis’ book on my website. Very in-depth look into the theoretical underpinnings of TP. Also, included is an interview I did with Frade.

Will die on this hill: preseason fitness testing is pointless. Unless your goal is to add tons of unnecessary volume, undue stress, and pre-exhaust your players, these tests tell you nothing (and may increase their risk of strains, injuries in this time).
@tylercoston Great ideas:
“play more games”— especially games that focus on recently learned skills.
“more excitement” — if you don’t love soccer, teaching kids, being a role model find another hobby.
“give compliments”— no guilt, shame, anger
@Gerard_Jones Love your ideas.
I think you will like my book—https://t.co/CcoMtQoUqo which focuses on playing principles, phases of play, etc…. Let me know if I can send you a copy to review.
@gregberge@mboyle1959 All great comments
“Are you hungry?”
“Do you have homework.”
“Your aunt is coming over for dinner.”
Sometimes not brining any more energy to a situation does wonders. Act as if they just finished playing pickup basketball. Happy they had fun but not identified with results.
@IJaSport Good article
You identify two phases of attack.
•Organized Build Up
•Organized Creation of Scoring
Build up gets a lot of attention but the dev of scoring chances in the opponent’s half less so, which I call probing. Probing is trained using rondos and quick turns.
