@BrianStack153 My parents didn’t let me watch, so I “watched” and laughed through your retelling of the skits the next day. It was good for both of us.
@arthurbrooks Love this, and as a companion book on this topic for Christians I highly recommend Richard Rohr’s excellent “Falling Upward”. In it, he talks about Odysseus’s journey onward AFTER he returns home in victory. There is always an onward journey.
@TheAtlantic Of the 24 authors and reviewers of these books I think I count 3 men? While unscientific it feels like another indicator that, apart from some narrow non-fiction categories, the act of book reading (and book reviewing, and club attendance) is increasingly a single-gender activity
@DKThomp Like other biphasic insomniacs I shake my fist in rage at the repetitive articles on insomnia (Turn off your phone! Cool bedroom! No caffeine! etc…) which assume all insomniacs are having trouble falling asleep at 10pm. Finally a writer addresses this under-explored topic. 👏
@DKThomp Very helpful piece, especially for those of us insomniacs who easily fall asleep at the beginning of the night only to wake up at 3am (as I did, as usual, last night). People ask me how I’m able to read so much. The answer is I am reading for an hour or two while they’re asleep.
@ZeroBlog30 1. Shutter the F-35
2 Reduce carrier battle groups in deployment.
3. Move more active units to reserve status.
This is probably more than 20 percent. I sorta think we need to keep the USMC for traditions’ sake alone - and I’m an Army vet.
