Former Tusker Project Fame host Mitch Egwang has made startling revelations about his time on the popular East African reality television show.
According to Mitch Egwang, his co-hosts Sheila Mwanyigha and Joey Muthengi deliberately worked behind the scenes to undermine his on-screen appearance.
Tusker Project Fame's hosting lineup over the years included Gaetano Kagwa, Sheila Mwanyigha, Mitch Egwang, and Joey Muthengi. Gaetano hosted Seasons 1 and 2 as well as the All Stars edition, while Sheila and Mitch co-hosted Seasons 3 to 5. Mitch later teamed up with Joey Muthengi in Season 6.
According to Mitch, tensions existed behind the cameras despite the polished image viewers saw on television.
"Getting into Kenya, one of the difficulties was that the crew did not like me. Even my co-host we had friction with my co-host for almost two or three years before we actually started hitting it off."
Mitch said that Kenyan co-hosts did not want him to shine on screen and would steer him toward unsuitable makeup artists and barbers in an effort to affect his appearance during broadcasts.
While Tusker Project Fame was celebrated as one of East Africa's most successful reality shows, Mitch's account paints a different picture of the personal and professional challenges that existed among members of the production team.
Neither Sheila Mwanyigha nor Joey Muthengi has publicly responded to the TPF backstage conflicts.
Bebe Cool defends his expensive booking fees
“If I come to perform at your venue, you can sell alcohol worth Shs 100 million or Shs 200 million. I can’t put my brand on small bookings. First and foremost, I buy new outfits for every performance, and I don’t repeat them. I can wear an outfit worth Shs 15 million alone for a single performance.”

It was as if he was predicting the Ebola outbreak & that it would damage the tourism industry.
