Not trying to be facetious, but it’s important to continue pointing out…
Pro/rel shouldn’t happen in MLS, or USL, or any one franchise based business.
American soccer should operate with a pyramid for individual clubs to compete and allow teams from every inch of this country the opportunity to earn their spot based on merit. That’s what FIFA requires in all other countries. And that’s USSF job to implement and govern such a system.
A plan for a 3 division pyramid was presented by previous USSF president Werner Fricker in the late 1980’s. Why we strayed away from that plan is something I would love to learn more about.
The fact is that American soccer is in a much different spot now and if we want to see a real soccer boom in this country… an open pyramid is the way the forward.
I’ll close with this… professional soccer in America should not be limited to just major metropolitan areas, or stadiums with certain capacities, or only to owners with certain amounts of money. The most American thing we can do is allow everyone the same opportunities to prove themselves and earn their spot.
@itsolelehmann Shameful that the US hasn’t invested in high speed rail. Crazy thing is that the highways systems in Western Europe are much better too. Somehow they managed to do both.
In the wake of the stunning news that Trump is planning to take over Columbia University, I hope you’ll watch this speech I gave yesterday.
It details Trump’s plan to destroy democracy’s organs of accountability and dissent: the press, universities and lawyers.

Polestar comes for Tesla owners specifically with new incentive:

Greenland has an election tomorrow. Trump is trying to sway the election to take Greenland.
But here is why we are not too concerned and some FAQ about Greenland.

@brithume@dkaleniuk We thought the West won the Cold War 35 years ago. But Putin saw it as a cease fire & pursued a campaign via KGB successors FSB, SVR & GRU, and private armies. Ukraine’s fight for survival is just and in our natl interest. But Trump is ready to capitulate and join the other side.
1. As I lie in this bed overcoming whatever demon-hell kind of cold I have, I have been thinking about what it means for a president to dismantle the US government as the rate that Donald Trump is, and I keep coming back to what a professor at the UT at Austin said:
Lots of talk about "spheres of influence" in the context of the Trump admin's novel approach to foreign policy and their apparent plan to hand some/all of Ukraine to Russia, which is very keen on the "spheres of influence" idea. It's a non-starter for both Russia and the US 🧵
1/ Let me explain why the total destruction of USAID - happening as we speak - matters so much.
China - where Musk makes his money - wants USAID destroyed. So does Russia. Trump and Musk are doing the bidding of Beijing and Moscow. Why?

An awful practice of antivaccine activists: downplay seriousness of measles & exaggerate side effects of the MMR vaccine. We addressed this in @nytimes in 2020. Top box what happens if 10,000 kids get measles: 2,000 hospitalized or worse; bottom box 10,000 kids get MMR vaccine
