Left wing candidates consistently underperform in general elections even when they excite the base, see AOC or Mamdani who both perform poorly compared to mods

@dennismhogan @namalhotra You tend not to make endorsements in primaries unless you are a member of that party. Thus, the AAUP seems to be declaring themselves part of the Democratic Party which is probably not productive at a time where higher Ed needs bipartisan support

@DAMendelsohnNYC @odysseymovie It’s not a perfect adaptation but it’s certainly not a bad one either, as easy as it is to just want to focus on what was left out instead of what was included. Odysseus is not the same character but he was not stripped of his defining traits either

@DAMendelsohnNYC @odysseymovie Odysseus’s problems really start after he is a bad guest in the Cyclop’s cave, is it really so bad to extrapolate that theme further and apply it to the Mycenean’s actions in Troy? I quite liked what Nolan did with the Sea People angle and civilizational collapse
