Data release day!
Here's the data from our paper "Light Dark Matter Search with Ionization Signals in #XENON1T" @PhysRevLett.

Neutrons emitted spontaneously from the materials of the detector can mimic WIMP signals. To tag (and discard) these events we built a Neutron Veto (NV) around the #XENONnT cryostat.
Here’s a video that shows a few key steps in the NV construction before its final installation😎.
Today is paper-day!
“Projected WIMP Sensitivity of the #XENONnT#DarkMatter Experiment”
With an exposure of 20 yrs, the expected sensitivity to spin-independent WIMP-nucleon interactions is 1.4E-48 cm2 for a 50 GeV mass WIMP.

Last week Michelle Galloway from @UZH_Science presented "Search for axions and #axion-like particles with #XENON1T." Michelle is one of the main contributors to this analysis.

Solar axions, neutrino's magnetic moment, dark photons... New interesting results from #XENON1T!
To know more, connect to our seminar on 17 June, at 4 pm CEST.

The correct answer is ...
➡️16 353 m.
You could take the cables and span a single line between the above ground laboratories @LngsInfn via the Gran Sasso Tunnel down into Hall B underground.
We know you've all been waiting for it... poll time!📊
➡️How many metres of cables have been used in #XENONnT to power and readout the light sensors installed in the detector?
Our virtual journey of the #XENONnT assembly has come to an end. The TPC is closed in the inner vessel which will be filled with 8.4t of liquid xenon!
But it's not really the end... we are really on the edge of glory now and one step closer to unveil the mystery of #DarkMatter
@lzdarkmatter@SLAClab Nice!! Would have also chosen krypton for K. :) may I ask two questions?
1) Did you clean the full xenon inventory of 8.x (?) tonnes already?
2) How do you make sure to preserve the purity between SLAC and SURF from now until filling the detector? Thanks in advance
This easter is unlike any other we've ever had,
there's not much joy in any chocolate🥚.
But as #darkmatter is not dark,
so it's not our❤️.
Easter gives us hope that light shall prevail:
Together we won't fail!
So while we stay apart,
Let's not forget:
Better times will come!
"It's not so much the destination as it is the journey."

➡️And here's the journey of our detector to the underground lab @LngsInfn. So far, the journey has paid off the efforts; we also hope in a 5-sigma discovery as a destination.😇#DarkMatter#XENONnT
Today in the @NYTimes they tell the story of our @XENONexperiment and the people behind it, where they are based at @LngsInfn in Italy. It's the story how we ensured the safety of both our people and experiment during the #coronavirus situation. https://t.co/sBL1omr8kQ
Eleven years ago, L'Aquila earthquake hit the Abruzzo region. Our hearts are close to all people affected by that painful trial. Italy, like all world, is now being stricken by #COVID19 .Like in 2009, better days will come, we will hug and smile again. We are all together in this.
"Good, better, best: Never let it rest! 'Til your good is better and your better is best."
➡️In this video, we show the end of the epic construction of the #XENONnT TPC. XENONers lift the field cage, insert the bottom PMT array and wrap the detector for its journey underground.
