Record breaking 114th ILC where a new Convention on platform economy without the scheduled recommendation is approved with a session ended at 6:00am. A very struggling and tiring fortnight.
A more efficient session of GB amid financial uncertainty, geopolitical tensions and colder-than-usual weather. A lot more will be clear by June hopefully.
A very difficult session of GB. Headache and HZ literally. Reform is, most tough issue at all times, no exception for ILO. It’s however a must for the effectiveness, efficiency and long-term development of the organization, which is clear to all parties.

As regulatory expectations rise and supply chains become increasingly complex, the new guidance underscores a key point: companies of all sizes require structured and reliable approaches to navigate human rights due diligence effectively.
The guidance translates international standards into business-friendly language, offering SMEs and larger companies concrete ways on how to implement them into a practical and accessible framework, including:
👥Identifying and prioritising human rights risks
⚖️Implementing measures to prevent, mitigate and remedy adverse impacts
🤝 Interacting with workers, communities and suppliers
📉 Improving grievance mechanisms and transparency
👣 Providing guidance for SMEs taking their first concrete steps

113th session of ILC is closing today, witnessing a historical moment that a new Convention and Recommendation on protection against biological hazards in the working environment is approved. ILO is launching internal reform to be more efficient. Multilateralism will prevail.
Two weeks of the 353rd GB of the ILO is over. The most important item is P&B for 2026-27 approved with SOGI elements deferred which should be discussed outside P&B. Democratization of ILO governance still far away to go.
🚨 Elon Musk just outlined what keeps him going through all the attacks and smears:
“The reason I’m here is because I’m very worried about America going bankrupt due to the corruption and waste.
And if we don’t do something, the ship of America is going to sink. We are all on that ship…”
“Your company is not going to exist if the ship of America sinks.”
“We should do everything we possibly can to ensure that America is strong far into the future, or we're ALL sunk.”
VERY well said 🇺🇸
Youth unemployment isn’t just about numbers—it’s about people’s lives.
Despite the lowest youth unemployment rate in 15 years, decent jobs remain scarce. Many young people face insecurity and a lack of opportunities.

It’s naturally proved once again that a just cause attracts much support while an unjust cause finds little. A historic day when a super power chooses its leadership out of irrationality.
Advocating for #SocialJustice is urgent.
That was the message Roberto Suárez Santos, Secretary-General of @ioevoice shared at the closing of the Inaugural Forum of the Global Coalition for Social Justice.
Fifth time for CEC CEO to the ILC this year. Discussions on FPRW, Protection against biological hazards, decent work in care economy, renewed social contract are all important for for global social justice. Many tough debates and good memories.
Democracy is like rose with thorns, beautiful yet hard to get. One country, one vote, one voice; regional balance, rational representation, tripartite equilibrium, effective governance, etc. There is a long way to go.
