๐ย The second International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) opened yesterday at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, bringing together governments, international organisations, civil society and business to review progress on the Global Compact for Migration (GCM).
๐คย The IOE business delegation began the week with 20 representatives from employersโ and partner organisations across Aruba, Canada, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mexico, Serbia, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the United States.
๐๏ธย At the opening Multi-stakeholder Hearing, Tomรกs Jaramillo Torres, from @ANDI_Colombia, represented employers in the discussion on labour rights and protections, reinforcing a clear message: business must be an active partner in shaping migration policies that work in practice.
๐Employers were also represented at a side event on social justice, with Jorge Vera from @Coparmex, and on wage and social protection by Abdulghani Al Sayegh from Federation of Saudi Chambers, while the delegation briefing at the USCIB office helped align priorities for the week ahead.
โก๏ธย In the coming days, the delegation will continue engaging on legal pathways and responsible recruitment, skills development and labour mobility, and evidence-based migration policies.
