In Kenya, money is political. The price of food, the cost of education, the hospital bill, the job you cannot find, the business struggling to survive and the taxes draining your income are all shaped by political decisions.

Bad politics produces hard lives. Corrupt politics creates poverty. Toxic leadership spreads fear, hopelessness and division. When politics fails, families suffer, dreams die and an entire generation is forced to survive instead of building a future.

But 2027 gives us another opportunity. Not merely to change individuals, but to change the kind of leadership we accept. We must encourage one another to reject leaders who have impoverished the country, abused public trust and turned government into a private feeding ground.

A better Kenya is possible, but it will not be handed to us. We must vote with courage, organise with purpose and demand accountability without fear or favour. We have the numbers. We have the power. What remains is the collective will to remove a failed political class and replace it with leaders who understand that public office is a responsibility, not a reward.

Our politics must change because our lives depend on it.
