Global Citizen concerned about the climate emergency and social justice. Against state sponsored genocide. #FreePalestine Born at 319 ppm. #ClimateAction
One day, everyone will have always been against this.
More actual evidence of the depravity of this Labour Government, how they conduct themselves and the rot that runs throughout the entire party.
@RichardLyonn@DanNeidle I am looking forward to Dan’s response and views on MMT. I think I know what he will say. I have previously suggested I would like to see him debate @RichardJMurphy on MMT!
We're going to have to repeat a lot that many Jewish people don't support Israel's genocide.
Criticism of the Israeli Government and their war crimes has nothing to do with who is or isn't Jewish.
To conflate them like this is both harmful and antisemitic.
NATO's fight to the last Ukrainian...
Political leaders in NATO countries are so "pro-Ukrainian" that they toppled the democratically elected government in Kiev in 2014 without majority support in Ukraine; they supported purging Ukraine's political system, media, and society of "pro-Russian" elements; they backed the killing of thousands of Ukrainians in Donbas from 2014 onward who did not recognise the legitimacy of the new authorities; they pressured Zelensky to reverse the peace platform that 73% of Ukrainians voted for in 2019 because NATO viewed peace as "capitulation"; they torpedoed the peace negotiations in Istanbul in 2022 after Russia invaded; they boycotted diplomacy and negotiations for more than four years and declared that "weapons are the path to peace," even as a large majority of Ukrainians wanted immediate peace talks; they maintained public support in the West for fuelling the war by ensuring that the brutal "recruitment" of Ukrainian men to the front lines and other uncomfortable realities were not debated in the media; and now, leaders in NATO countries are pressuring the authorities in Ukraine to lower the conscription age, while the EU will also "help" Ukraine by sending Ukrainian refugees back home to die in NATO's proxy war.
🇪🇸 Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez indirectly called out Trump.
🇪🇸He said: "Some fools think that peace can be achieved with missiles, but it can't. It is built through dialogue and respect for international law."🔥
He added: "I sincerely thank the Pope for his courage to this path. I will not let anyone insult you."
He’s standing on the right side of history. What a leader. 👏
The UK now hosts more than 500 active data centres (the third largest in the world). They have been rammed through despite huge local community concerns about the impact on their local landscapes and energy and water consumption.
These enormous data centres are giant industrial facilities consuming vast quantities of electricity, water and land while placing increasing pressure on the UK’s energy infrastructure.
▪️Water consumption by data centres is expected to reach 9.3 trillion litres, while CO2 emissions will rise to 399 million tons.
▪️Annual power consumption from data centres is projected to double to 945 TWh by 2030, around the same as the whole of Japan’s energy consumption, with AI accounting for 40% of the total.
▪️The rise of AI is accelerating this trend. The UK Government's Compute Roadmap notes that AI data centres can devote up to 40% of their energy consumption to cooling systems.
▪️It is estimated that data-centre power and water consumption could double by 2030 due to AI growth.
▪️Emerging research suggests large AI facilities can create localised warming effects around their sites, sometimes described as a “data heat island” effect.
Numerous campaigns against these data centres are being organised by local communities. No one voted for this. If you are involved in any of these local campaigns, please DM me and I’ll try and help you amplify your campaigns.
The #BBC must urgently review the ‘partnership’ arrangement it has with #CBS as it no longer can be considered an independent or ‘trusted’ partner under the partisan ownership changes being introduced. @BBC
Germany blames Russia of course. The fact that Germany must always assume a special responsibility for Israel in the Middle East conflict may also have cost votes". https://t.co/GruXCa0K5H
Invading a sovereign nation, slaughtering civilians, targeting medics, forcibly expelling people and demolishing their homes isn’t a “strategy,” it’s a list of war crimes.
El Niño is arriving on our doorstep in the coming months with 90% certainty.
The world must treat it as the urgent climate warning it is.
The only effective response is #ClimateAction equal to the crisis – ending the addiction to fossil fuels, accelerating the shift to renewables, protecting the most vulnerable, and delivering early warning systems for all.

UN experts condemn escalating #US threats and coercion against #Cuba as undermining the international legal order. “Democratic & equitable international order requires that all States participate on equal footing, free from undue pressure.”

I wonder if the agreement is "contingent on a complete cessation" of attacks by the Israel? Israel has never complied with any ceasefire in the past. https://t.co/l7ixfvwXCV
Now that Gaza lies in ruins—shattered, like a beloved face after a long brutality—Israel moves with a terrible confidence to the next act: The act of leaving every soul there not merely wounded, but permanently disabled. Injured, sick, hungry, homeless, without work, without hope. This is not war’s collateral damage. This is design.
As my friend Gideon Levy writes—and he knows, he knows—this is the prelude to expulsion. Think of it: a society without teachers, without doctors, without social workers, without engineers, without clerks. That is not a society. That is a holding pen. A slow erasure. And when nothing functions—no school, no hospital, no office, no heart—then it becomes ‘easy,’ they tell themselves, to scatter the people to the four corners of the earth. Like seeds from a broken pod, except no soil will take them.
We must name this. Not with rage alone, though rage is honest. But with the cold, clear tears of recognition: they are making life impossible so that departure becomes the only ‘choice.’ And the world watches, adjusts its spectacles, and calls for restraint. Restraint! There is no restraint in a slow drowning.
We Are Living in the Dumbest Timeline
Donald Trump just posted a photo of a wind turbine next to birds and captioned it “Killing birds by the millions!”
He posted this without irony.
For every single bird killed by a wind turbine, nuclear and fossil fuel plants kill 2,118 birds. Coal alone kills roughly 7.9 million birds a year in the United States. Wind turbines? Between 140,000 and 328,000. That is not a defence of wind turbines.
We are living in genuinely, historically stupid times. Only rivalled, frankly, by the medieval peasants who blamed the Black Death on cats and promptly killed all the cats, which meant the rats multiplied, which meant more plague.
At least the peasants had the excuse of having no access to information whatsoever.
Trump has the internet. He chose this.
