"In 1982, when the Atlanta Braves opened the season with 13 wins, owner Ted Turner
removed Chief Noc-A-Homa's Teepee to sell more seats.
The Braves promptly lost 19 of their next 21 games, and fell to second place.
Ted Turner told team management to put Chief Noc-A-Homa's Teepee back up and the Braves went on to win the National League West.
"The general public was saying it was because we took the tepee down that we lost.
There were people who came to the stadium wearing tepees on top of their head, and it was the general public’s outcry that finally caused Ted Turner to put the tepee back up."
