“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” #Jesus
On this date in 1976, Astros pitcher Joe Niekro hit the only home run of his 22-year MLB career, and it came off none other than his brother, Phil Niekro.
Joe stepped to the plate 1,165 times during his major league career, but the only ball he ever hit over the fence came against his own sibling 🤯
Nancy and I, and the whole Murphy family, along with the Braves family and TBS kids everywhere, were sad to hear of Ted’s passing. Hard to put into words the impact he had on us. We are grateful for the chance to play for Ted. He changed so much in this world with tenacity and courage. Thank you, Ted. Rest in peace.
Great to have @HavenFord4 from @RacersWBB as our guest at Murray Middle FCA this morning! Very encouraging message about maintaining your faith through trials. @MSURacers

Character impacts them.
Make this part of your prayer practice:

Nate Ament: "It's one of the reasons I chose Tennessee because of Coach Barnes and his faith. ... as a team, you're trying to glorify something bigger than yourself. And, ultimately, something that is Jesus Christ and is God can only lead to good things. When you're playing for something other than your own glory and the glory of others, the glory of your teammates, the glory of Christ, only good things can happen from there if you're being selfless and trying to take care of each other."
This is what competition should be all about 🏀
At the end of a high-stakes game, Character Coach Randy Graham (Winthrop University) and High Point’s Chase Johnston took a moment to pray together after the Big South Championship.
Two opponents. One Faith. Reminding us all that the greatest impact in college basketball goes far beyond the scoreboard.

“In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!”
