On May 20, @AICC1987 attended the official launch of @DPWorld Ireland, with Minister @NiamhSmythTD officiating. Congrats to Simon Legg & his team on a flawless event! DP World is the 3rd UAE multinational in Ireland—starting from our 2022 MOU.
@pokerstuffs@gavreilly Yes, noted AOR getting a high pref in this instance. Mistakingly omitted Andrews from previous post. More general point is around advantage gotten from been higher on ballot when so many candidates. Have a feeling it’s part of reason there’s an increase in spoiled votes too.
@john_mcguirk If you look closely they voted to no7 - then were not exactly interested in remaining candidates as they went 8-23 from top to bottom of ballot. Clearly a higher position on the ballot is having a beneficial impact at this point of the count.
@gavreilly From one of your pics. After this voter got to no7 they just gave remaining prefs from top to bottom of ballot. Assuming there are many more similar instances. Does Cuffe / Boylan position near the top give them a slight advantage over AOR at this late stage of count?
@SeanMcGoldrick1 Also for balance worth noting that the tailteann cup & junior football championship, which involve less counties (38 games overall versus 64 games in lower tiered hurling championships) generated losses of €342k.
